JVM Posted March 25, 2010 Posted March 25, 2010 I am fishing a small club tourney at Ray Hubbard this weekend and know little about the lake/Texas/etc. Any tips, info, reports would be helpful. Most of all I'd like to know where the bass are, whether beginning to move shallow or still hanging deep. Also, anyone ever fish the lake or want to, I live right there and dont have a boat but will have access to a few boats in the very near future. Just llet me know. -Josh Quote
Super User fishfordollars Posted March 25, 2010 Super User Posted March 25, 2010 If you are putting in at Dalrock Ramp run North and fish the rock along the railroad and the highways. There is always the I-30 road bed too. And the levy running out from the power plant You can also run to the river below the Lake Lavon dam, but it you don't know the way don't try it. you'll kill your boat with the stumps sitting out in the boat run. Very dangerous if you have not tried it. Large sawed stump in the turn at the highline. It's killed a lot of boats. good luck Quote
JVM Posted March 26, 2010 Author Posted March 26, 2010 Thanks FF$. I'll let you know how I do. Tomorrow is supposed to be windy so it'll make for tough navigation. Sure need to drop the extra money and make the troller a foot-action!!! Quote
Super User fishfordollars Posted March 26, 2010 Super User Posted March 26, 2010 With all the roads crossing the lake it is simple to fish out of the wind. just pick a side of any road and go for it. If you fish the noth side of 30 there are many brush tops laying out in the deeper water out in 12-18' up and down the road bed. If you put in a Dalrock look right and you will see another ramp and boat slips. It has a levy running out into the lake to protect the boat stalls. i won big bass(6.1) and third place stringer off the main lake side of that levy last August if you want to give it a try. Water is 30' deep out off the end and both sides at times will produce. You may want to work your way back behind the stalls to see if any spawners have moved up. Has a nice little drain or creek running out of it. good luck. Quote
JVM Posted March 26, 2010 Author Posted March 26, 2010 And thats why you're the MF Man!!! Are you on TFF? Thanks again, as always. Quote
Super User fishfordollars Posted March 26, 2010 Super User Posted March 26, 2010 Sent you a pm explaining how to fish the rock along the road bed. From what I have heard Old Mother Hubbard has been extremely slow. Just stay after it and let us know how it goes. They should turn on any day. Good luck Quote

Don't expect much help over there. Those guys fish lots of tournaments on that lake an are very tight lipped with any info. Quote
JVM Posted March 26, 2010 Author Posted March 26, 2010 10-4 I haven't gotten much help. I think you have given me enough to get started and now that the weather is playing nice, nothing beats time on water. I am JVM on TFF too so if you see me, give me a shout. Do you fish in a club? What club? Quote
