Super User Catt Posted February 23, 2010 Super User Posted February 23, 2010 Vernon Lake is an outstanding fishery that held the state record for many years, it is best fished at night. Quote
Dalton Tam Posted February 24, 2010 Posted February 24, 2010 If you are looking for a good fishery in central Louisiana I would try the Saline/Larto complex but i wouldn't suggest trying it right now because the high water has got most all boat launches closed. If you want to try somewhere with big fish, you could try Black Lake in Campti. It seems like the last few years that is where the monsters are being caught. One tournament they had on Black Lake there were two 10 pounders and one 11 pounders weighd in. This was like last year sometime. So far this year, the biggest that I know that came out of their was 9 lbs. Cane River is another excellent place to try, especially at night. Good luck! Quote
Louisianabass91 Posted February 24, 2010 Author Posted February 24, 2010 I went fishing on Vernon lake yesterday night and caught a nice 6 pounder in the shallows. It was down near the spillway Quote
