Super User fishfordollars Posted November 16, 2009 Super User Posted November 16, 2009 Try Texoma. It's loaded with them. I hear every year that a few claim to catch one from there, but personally have never seen one. If they are, they are few and far between. I have family living in Lake Side Village and fish the lake a lot. If you need a back seat just let me know. Jack Quote
ctbassnut Posted November 17, 2009 Author Posted November 17, 2009 Thanks Jack...I haven't had much time on that lake yet. I just got my boat down here 3 weks ago and the wind has kept me on the north side of 30. I seen on the map a few road beds and rock p[iles i wanted to try ,but couldn't get to them without getting drenched.I only have a 18fter but would love to get out and fish with you sometime. I love bass fishing ,but it kinda gets boring by myself sometimes. Hoping to find a club to join so I can meet some friends to fish with. Quote
Super User fishfordollars Posted November 18, 2009 Super User Posted November 18, 2009 I know several of the guys in the Ray Hubbard Bass Club and they are right there where you are. They also have a Tuesday evening tournament from 6-9 each week. I fish it when I'm up there and it's a lot of fun. If you're interested I'll introduce you to them. Quote
ctbassnut Posted November 20, 2009 Author Posted November 20, 2009 I'd love to meet them. and maybe evenjoin here club if they have any openings. Boater or non it doesn't matter to me as long as i'm fishing.. Let me know when you have some extra time on your hands and want to fish the lake. My boat is just a few miles from the lake and would like to fish with someone that knows the lake alittle more then me. I'm afraid to run at top end not knowing whats down there. kinda keep me limited to whee i have fished on the lake. man the wind really can kill your day there to. At least for me anyway. Like i iad I'm running a 18fter with a 110 on it and that wind gets them white caps going pretty good somedays. Quote

JVM Posted November 21, 2009 Posted November 21, 2009 Ray Hubbard is a pretty good LMB fishery though from what I understand. Texoma shld be just what u r looking for as far as smallies go. Used to live in Plano Tx, now in VA. Moving back sooooooon. I'll be living right off the water near Ray Hubbard for a while at least... then maybe out twrds Athens, closer to action. Can't wait to be back in N.Tx... FISH ON!!! Quote
Super User fishfordollars Posted November 22, 2009 Super User Posted November 22, 2009 Tournament is out of the Dalrock ramp on the north side of the interstate just east of the Bass Pro shops store. Take the Dalrock exit and do a loop around. turn right just before you reenter the freeway. Ramp is on the left. You cannot miss it. We will be fishing the rock and drops with plastics, jigs, and cranks. Will get with the wife to finalize the trip today and verify that we will be there in time to fish(It's a 5 hour tow from my home). If I see we are going to be close on time I can get the wife's sister to meet us at the ramp and pick her and the dogs up. My phone number is 281 224-8853. Jack Quote
EastTexasBassin Posted November 22, 2009 Posted November 22, 2009 I live a few blocks north of the Dalrock ramp. If any of you guys have a back seat open I'd be happy to come along if I'm not stuck at work. Quote
Super User fishfordollars Posted November 23, 2009 Super User Posted November 23, 2009 I will be visiting family at Lakeside Village(1 mile from Dalrock ramp) Tuesday through Saturday and will have my boat with me. Jack 281 224-8853 Quote
EastTexasBassin Posted November 26, 2009 Posted November 26, 2009 Dang, I don't have a day off until after you leave. I've been wanting to fish with you, hopefully next time. I'm off today (Thanksgiving) but with family coming over I don't think I could get away with fishing today. (I would guess the same is true for you) Hey ctbassnut, I'm off next Thursday. I'll give you a call next week to see if you want to fish. Happy Thanksgiving everyone! Quote
Super User fishfordollars Posted November 30, 2009 Super User Posted November 30, 2009 ctbassnut, call Casey at 214 317-0875. He wants to invite you to their club meeting to meet everyone. He is president of the Ray Hubbard Bass Club. I talked to him this morning about you. Jack Quote
ctbassnut Posted December 1, 2009 Author Posted December 1, 2009 Thanks jack...I'll be calling him this evening to ge the date of the meeting. I wound up going to bridgeport on friday to chase some smallies around. TEB, I'm free thursday, so if the wind isn't to bad we can get out then. i still haven't been out on the southern side of 30 yet. The wind has been keeping me on the norhtern side and its been real tough fishing up there. That side of the lake is real shallow and can't find any good deep structure. I'm still very new to the lake, so I haven't located any go to spots just yet. Only been out 3 times on it. Quote
