frank4747 Posted February 27, 2008 Posted February 27, 2008 I know beavers are good for jig trailers...but what are some other effective ways to rig them? Quote
utahbasser Posted February 27, 2008 Posted February 27, 2008 i rig them texas and carolina usually. and sometimes even weightless, it just depends on the depth and the kind of day. i only use them this way, i have other trailers i use for jigs Quote
Bass XL Posted February 27, 2008 Posted February 27, 2008 i rig them texas and carolina usually. x2 Quote
Super User Jig Man Posted February 27, 2008 Super User Posted February 27, 2008 They pitch pretty well trigged/pegged. Quote
djmax22 Posted February 27, 2008 Posted February 27, 2008 I use beaver exculsively as a carolina rig trailer. I have thrown the beaver weighless in a small pond to observe the action. It just swims along. Quote
The_Natural Posted February 27, 2008 Posted February 27, 2008 My go-to pitchin' bait is a 5.20 beaver in the color 'Big Texan' rigged on a Chompers Rock Walker jighead. I have caught countless toads on this rig, including my biggest bass of '07. Here is the jighead... http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Product_10151_-1_10001_51886_100010006_100000000_100010000_100-10-6 Quote
Super User Sam Posted February 27, 2008 Super User Posted February 27, 2008 Texas-rigged to flip and pitch. Carolina rigged. Fish them like a creature bait and also as a jig trailer if you need bulk. Quote
Shadcranker Posted February 27, 2008 Posted February 27, 2008 Smallie Beaver makes a great shaky head bait for smallmouth and spots. I use the larger on as a fippin bait when pitchin to buck brush and isolated wood, laydowns, etc. SC Quote
TopDog Posted February 27, 2008 Posted February 27, 2008 A beaver texas rigged with a small bullet weight on spinning gear is an awesome skipping bait for getting underneath docks and overhangs. Quote
Super User Tin Posted February 27, 2008 Super User Posted February 27, 2008 It is one of those baits you really can't fish wrong. Quote
