i rig them texas and carolina usually. and sometimes even weightless, it just depends on the depth and the kind of day. i only use them this way, i have other trailers i use for jigs

I use beaver exculsively as a carolina rig trailer. I have thrown the beaver weighless in a small pond to observe the action. It just swims along.

Texas-rigged to flip and pitch.

Carolina rigged.

Fish them like a creature bait and also as a jig trailer if you need bulk.

It is one of those baits you really can't fish wrong.
