Hey Guys, we just rented a house for the 1st week of June on Lake Hamilton, Arkansas.  Can someone give me some preliminary information on the 3 lakes I mentioned above.  From what I understand there is good largemouth fishing on all 3 but Hamilton can get a little busy.  I'm trying to put a plan together as if and when I may need to trailer the boat to Ouachita or DeGray.  Would appreciate some feedback and as always I appreciate your help.

Quachita is huge, clear and mostly wilderness. You can spend your

entire time there. The bass fishing can be good, but the lake is really

noted for striper. Spending your first day with a guide would be my

primary recommendation.

p.s. I caught my PB spot on this lake...4 1/2 lbs!

By that time of the year De Gray will be loaded with hydrilla.  I like it but hate the hydrilla.  I am sending you a PM so you can get some local info.

You mentioned the June month which is really, really busy on Hamilton. Degray and Ouachita will be Black spinner bait and a big 10" worm on the outside edge of Hydrilla(Plum and Redbug mostly)Hydrilla may be sparse as high water tends to kill out Hydrilla due to water pressure and lack of sunlight. Also try the 4 bridges on Hamilton with drop shot or shakey head. There is a speed barrier on the bridges so you won't get run over but be careful and watch out for drunks and skimpy bathing suits! Good luck Crowcommander

If I were u I would say on Degray, and one day drive down to millwood lake about 1 hour from Degray, if u like fishing cypress trees and alot of brush.  At millwood you have a chance of catching a 10 + at anytime. The fish hold very tight to the cypress trees there in the summer.  Good Luck

i just saw your post about hamilton, ouachita & degray,i have lived on hamilton since 1986.by the time you get here hamilton will be crowded w/daytime traffic but night fishing should be gettin' goin about that time.ouachita will be more fishable during the day, just a bigger lake to escape some of the pleasure traffic and fishing should be good.(bream fishing should be excellent by then-some possibly in 3/4lb.range).degray is basically a smaller version of ouachita but can get crowded during the day.just drop a line if i can help in any way-jason

Night fishing Ouachita is one of my favorite fishing trips. I go several times a year and usually catch some really nice fish. throw a big black spinner that throws a lot of vibration. I have a local guy that makes mine but I know there are others. SLOW roll it on the outside of the hydrilla and hold on.

Hamilton will be a mad house during the day and be very careful at night! Tons of drunks flying around with their lights off.
