Darrell20 Posted December 9, 2008 Posted December 9, 2008 I have heard recently the slot limit restriction on Ray Roberts Lake is going to be dropped and the regular state fish size limits will be put into place. Has anyone else heard this? Quote
Super User fishfordollars Posted December 9, 2008 Super User Posted December 9, 2008 They have been discussing it on another forum and everyone seems to think they will. Problem is all Texas Parks and Wildlife regulations have to go up for public discussion and the regs are only changed every September 1. Unless an exception is made(Doubt that) it would have to wait until then. Quote
mattm Posted December 10, 2008 Posted December 10, 2008 Unfortunately I have heard this. Will be great for all the tournament guys though. Great lake for tournament fishing. Quote
Super User Matt Fly Posted January 8, 2009 Super User Posted January 8, 2009 BASS will be there as soon as the slot is dropped. It should take the century mark to win on this lake. The slot really keeps the lid on this lake. Quote
IneedAnewScreenName9886691 Posted January 9, 2009 Posted January 9, 2009 If they do change it - it's going to really BUM ME OUT ! She is my sweetheart down South! Quote

The slot really keeps the lid on this lake. The weights will shock everyone. No telling how many double digit fish will be caught. I'm betting it will take 27+ a day to win it and a few 30+ lb sacks. Captain Obvious Posted January 15, 2009 Posted January 15, 2009 The best kept fishing secret in Texas will be reveled. Nooooooooooooooooooo :'( Quote
Super User Matt Fly Posted January 16, 2009 Super User Posted January 16, 2009 Ray Bob is full of those 5-7 lbers that never show up due to the slot. DD's galore. I had that same number in my head as well. at least 27 lbs a day. Quote
bighed Posted January 19, 2009 Posted January 19, 2009 RR is the closest serious bass lake to my house, about 45 minutes away. I've fished it since it had nuts and squirrels in the submerged pecan trees and motors were not allowed. That said, it's become a very hard lake for me (and others I think) to crack over the years. Our club tourny there in Sept. had but one limit. I got third with a single under keeper. I'm glad the slot is going away and look forward to seeing what the pro's can do out there. I'd like to see the spots and sand bass cleaned out a little too. Quote
