Nick B Posted May 16, 2008 Posted May 16, 2008 I will be moving to the Little Rock area, Beebe to more specific. I am wondering if anyone else lives in that area where they go to get fishing tackle, lures, equipment, etc. ? I have a fishing boat, being in New Mexico I didnt get the use out of it I would like. I am really looking forward to moving there and being able to go 10 miles and be at a lake I can put my boat in. Also I saw in Bass Pro Shops catalog there is a store being built in Little Rock, does anyone know anything about this? Any other information that anyone is willing to share about places to fish, etc. is also greatly appreciated. Thanks Quote
ad870 Posted May 16, 2008 Posted May 16, 2008 Fish n stuff in the n. little rock sherwood area. Arkansas rod and reel on Cantrell in LR. Gander Mtn. in N. LR The top two are my favorite. Quote
CL Posted May 16, 2008 Posted May 16, 2008 i have heard a rumor of bps coming. but other than what has already been said, there is also academy sports. even walmart is pretty good here, other states dont have what the walmarts do here. Quote
Nick B Posted May 16, 2008 Author Posted May 16, 2008 I was there last week taking care of the house Im going to buy. I went to Gander Mtn, it wasnt too bad. Ill check those other places out when I get back there. Quote
hawgchaser Posted May 18, 2008 Posted May 18, 2008 Rod and Reel has all the specialized baits that you can't get anywhere else. Haven't been to Fishnstuff in years but it used to be nice. There are dozens of places to fish near Bebee. There are plenty of good bass fishing, but you are also very close to world class trout on the little red. Quote
hawgchaser Posted May 19, 2008 Posted May 19, 2008 Arkansas Rod and Reel is on cantrell in Little Rock. Quote
RKS3 Posted May 29, 2008 Posted May 29, 2008 I am partial to Academy over Gander in NLR for fishing equipment. Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted May 29, 2008 Super User Posted May 29, 2008 Arkansas Rod and Reel is on cantrell in Little Rock. This is a GREAT old fashion bait shop, privately owned and independent. 8-) Quote
hawgchaser Posted May 30, 2008 Posted May 30, 2008 Arkansas Rod and Reel is on cantrell in Little Rock. This is a GREAT old fashion bait shop, privately owned and independent. 8-) They know their stuff in there. Do you know Billy? The first place I go when I am hitting a different lake in Ar is Rand R. They always have an up to date report. Plus they carry all the good baits you can't find anywhere else. Quote

hawgchaser Posted July 15, 2008 Posted July 15, 2008 Spent 35 minutes getting my boat unstuck tough lake nik we need to go run up to greers Dont hit Greers unless you are looking for hybrids. It has been dang near impossible lately. The water is dropping at an incredible rate and is fairly muddy. The bass fishing has been aweful, jugging for cats is decent, and hybrids are scattered but can be found.....I am ready for FALL!!! Quote
Nick B Posted July 15, 2008 Author Posted July 15, 2008 I have been fishing the base lake from shore and caught a few, I am going to take my boat out on it very soon. I watched 2 guys put their boat on a stump out there on Barnett, I was surprised he didnt flip the jon boat the way they were trying to get off of it was pretty crazy. I may hit Barnett during the week if I get the chance Quote
Nick B Posted August 3, 2008 Author Posted August 3, 2008 I havent been to Barnett in a few weeks, been mainly fishing the lake on base. Im thinking about going up to Greers here in the near future, also thinking about going to fish the Little Red near Searcy. Hoping the cooler water will have the smallies going. Im still trying to get some intel on there though. Quote
