Sun 5/25 another 15 in the boat but only 5 2.5 to 3.5 lbrs.

We did get some top water action in the weeds and just before dark.

Worked frogs and large tubes across the top of the weeds with some success. Just before dark worked jitter bugs along the banks.

Also caught several on crank baits.

I've been fishing mostly in Oklahoma at Grand as I have had a couple of tournaments there and another one in late june. But today I Checked out a private watershed near wichita. It is full and the bass are in the reeds. I caught several 2-4 lbrs and one that went 6.5. Caught them pitching a green and blue tube jig to pockets in the reeds. I am having a get together there this weekend sat and sun with a campout sat night. Just an informal meet and greet of about 10 guys from around kansas. Some are just there on sat ,some on sun and a few all weekend. We are going to have a pot for big fish , 5 bucks to enter and winner gets it all. Give me a call if you want to join us. My brother & I caught about a hundred Wipers 2 weekends ago at Milford. No real big ones, but all between 2 & 4 pounds.

Looks like they're close to shutting down though.

Caught 20 today, slow start at first worked a crank hard but only a couple of dinks. Tied on a coffee tube and they hit hard. The wife joined me later in the day, she never used a tube before, after a short training session she was on fish. Largest of the day was 5.5 lbs.

Going to hit it again Saturday;)

Well Saturday was a tough day. It was hard to get a bite. Started with a crank only one dink. Tried a tube they were not having anything to do with them either. Tried a shaky head worm and the bites were few and far between. Did manage to get 5 in the boat bigest was 3.5 lbs.

Been so long since I'd used worms failed to get several good hook sets. I'll have to pratice at that. The lake was like glass when I put in no breeze at all. Off and on the breeze would blow for a short time then stop.

I had the weekend get together and the fishing was un-beleivable. There were 9 guys on saturday and 7 of us on sunday. Most of us caught 30 to 50 fish each day. The big ones were in hiding, probably deep in the flooded reeds. The males were finishing the spawn and could be seen guarding clouds of fry. If you could flip a tube or craw pappy right to an opening in the reeds , you got bit on every 3rd or 4th cast. There were also lots of big crappie and bluegills caught on small jigs. The average size bass was 2 lbs and the biggest caught was a little over 3lbs.

Sounds awesome, too bad we missed out. Keep us posted on future events.  8-)
