Hawg Fan Posted April 16, 2008 Posted April 16, 2008 I have only fished in a boat a few times in my life and I was just curious if there was anyone out there who wouldnt mind a back seater once in a while so I could practice fishing from a boat in real Arkansas Lakes. You are so limited when it comes to practicing techniques and fishing from various depths from shore. Once I leave for the Air Force at the end of the year I hope to buy a Bass Tracker and start tournament fishing in a few years. Thanks for Reading, Nick Quote
jb_adams Posted April 18, 2008 Posted April 18, 2008 If I had one, I'd definately give you a call. I'm still working on getting one though. A lot of really good anglers here fish from banks. This time of year is good for bank fishing since most bass go shallow until the summer gets really hot. I'd suggest using a lot of plastics because if you hang up, it's no big financial loss vs. $5 a bait for every lost bait. May I sugget an Xpress boat? For the same money, you get a more stable boat, faster, better fuel efficiency, and a tough as nails boat. No one's ever said a bad thing about Xpress. There are a few opinions on Bass Tracker however. Just my two cents. I've put a lot of time into researching this myself since I was looking at a Bass Tracker. For the money, I prefer the Xpress. Nick B Posted April 28, 2008 Posted April 28, 2008 Where in AR are you? Ill be moving to Little Rock area in June, I am currently in the AF. I have a boat and will be so happy to be somewhere where I can use it more than I do here in New Mexico. I have just started looking around for places to fish and I am really excited about this move. hawgchaser Posted April 29, 2008 Posted April 29, 2008 There are literally dozens of lakes within an hour of little rock. The Arkansas River runs through little rock and is one of the funnest bodies of water to fish IMO. You have Lake Monticello for 10lb bass, the red river currently holds the world record trout. Greers Ferry holds the world record hybrid and walleye, crooked Creek and several others are top notch smallmouth waters as well. You will see that there are limitless opportunities for great fishing! Congrats on your move, i love Little Rock. Quote
Hawg Fan Posted April 29, 2008 Author Posted April 29, 2008 Hey NB, I live about 3 minutes from the front gate of the base, right down the road pretty much. I'd be glad to show you around central arkansas if you'd like, there isnt much to do in jacksonville but you have everything you need close by unlike some bases. Oh and just to let you know The "Little Rock" Air Force Base..is actually located in the city of jacksonville which is about 10 minutes from Little Rock. Quote
Nick B Posted April 30, 2008 Posted April 30, 2008 I am looking at buying a house in Beebe, Ive been to LRAFB so I know that is in Jax. Im really looking forward to this move. The fishing here in New Mexico is scattered at best. I may take you up on your offer. Quote
Hawg Fan Posted April 30, 2008 Author Posted April 30, 2008 Sounds good, when are you making the move? Quote
