SHADOW_1 Posted April 18, 2008 Posted April 18, 2008 Anyone heard how deep the water level is right now at pomme de terre is? I'll be going there next week bass fishing,I'm staying at Coopers cove. Quote
Mid-MO Posted April 18, 2008 Posted April 18, 2008 As of yesterday afternoon, the lake level was 854.36 and dropping (over half a foot yesterday). I think 839 is normal pool most of the year (they tend to keep it a couple feet higher in the spring). Quote
SHADOW_1 Posted April 18, 2008 Author Posted April 18, 2008 Thanks, we went there last year this time of year it was high also, fishing was really tough, it was my first time there, i thought 13" size limit we would be pulling fish in all day. I was wrong. Quote
FisherCouple Posted April 18, 2008 Posted April 18, 2008 My wife and I were on Pomme yesterday (Thursday) for six hours and never got a single bite. Talked to a couple of other boats and it had been the same for them. We were fishing flooded cover....main lake shores..and nothing. We wanted to fish more of the secondary points but the wind was up quite a bit and just didnt feel like hammering the trolling motor all day. We threw spinnerbaits, plastic worms, rattle-traps, jig/pig, coffee tubes and a new Dance eel....and not even a perch. LOL. The lake was very stained to muddy and the warmest watter we found was about 52.2 degrees....I'm sure things we pick up there in a few days unless we get a lot more rain. Quote
New to bass fishing Posted April 19, 2008 Posted April 19, 2008 It is about 15 feet high I am going down there on sunday to drop some stuff, before my trip in two weeks. I will bring back a update. Quote
Bass XL Posted April 19, 2008 Posted April 19, 2008 I had a tournament this past weekend down there. It was really tough. Try fishing the dam with a small white crankbait. You may be able to get those FEW roaming fish. If that doesnt work, fish in cove 2 (the flooded point) with a white spinnerbait. Good luck and tell us how you did. Quote
SHADOW_1 Posted April 19, 2008 Author Posted April 19, 2008 Thanks guys for the info, I hope the updates keep coming in. Well I guess any bad day of fishing, is still a good day away from work! Quote
Quinn Posted April 20, 2008 Posted April 20, 2008 Was the water really brown, kind of like a cup of cocoa? I wasn't on Pomme, Iwas at LOZ but every spot of water has been muddy even the ones you see as you drive by. I expect the rest to look the same with all the rain. Quote
Bass XL Posted April 20, 2008 Posted April 20, 2008 Actually no. It wasnt that brown. But remember, I fished around the dam. I imagine that there is some choclate milk water down south. Quote
New to bass fishing Posted April 21, 2008 Posted April 21, 2008 Ok I was down there in the pittsburgh area State Park Marina water is up to the parking lot. It looks like it is down from where it had been which is a good thing. So hopefully it will continue to drop. It is still high and lot of debris. Quote
SHADOW_1 Posted April 28, 2008 Author Posted April 28, 2008 Well this fishing was bad, water was 10' above normal, we had to use a roll boat to get to the docks every morning and night, I caught 2 fish 1-8" 1-10" the biggest fish caught was 18" in 4 days. 2 years in row burned by pomme de terre, were done with that lake. I really suggest you to go to Pomme in the summer. The night fishing there is amazing. Quote
