Well first off.. Never caught a bass on the Missouri. They should be there with all the lakes and rivers that feed the Missouri. I have fished the Missouri from the bank many times in the past 20 years only comming up with small cats and a sturgeon now and then.

I've taken my 14 ft jon with a 15 horse with two adults and teen and it ran up the river just fine. We fished all day drifting back to the ramp without any bites. We did work some of the holes along the way without any luck.

What part of the river will you be on?  How big is your boat?  I think the fastest waters of the missouri are about 5-8 mph between omaha, NE and gavins point dam in yankton SD.

between omaha and iowa right there by bass proshops on the border

Decatur, Onawa area is the furthest south that I have been on the river.  The river looks to be the same maybe even a little more channelled down there.  It may be moving all of 8mph.  A 25 hp on a 16 ft john boat should do you fine.
