I have one but I never use it at all.............If my partner and I were on a big lake with the boat, we had finders on it........If it was one of the smaller lakes we fish, I already know what's there. ( I dont use them to find fish, i use them to find cover and struture)...........It was hard getting a good reading on the screen and if the "transducer, the little green bubble thing" was more than 20 or 30 feet away, then it didnt work at all.........Another thing, you'd better secure it with pretty heavy line or whatever as if you go to "cast" it out, it breaks off your line or whatever you are using.............I would not buy one but that's just my opinion...................Thankfully, the one I have was a gift................been sitting in the closet for about 3 years........ ;D

I love mine, likely because I dont have a boat.  I usually fan cast it out and get a read on the water before I throw a bait out.  It is much better than just a map and blind casting.  I get really good resolution and results with mine.  Worh the price of admission if you are in the same boat (or lack thereof) as I am.
