solman Posted January 24, 2008 Posted January 24, 2008 I been ready some posts about Bull Shoals/Ozarks/etc. to get a drift on when things start happening in this neck of the woods. I live in South central Wisconsin and it's not unheard of to have snow on opening day in May. So I'm thinking about a drive south in April/May to do some fishing. I can get to Memphis from here in about 9 hours (without the blizzard), so it looked like I could get to Bull Shoals area in a day. Alot of the post say that April is tough so should I be looking further south at this time of year? Quote
peculiarmike Posted January 25, 2008 Posted January 25, 2008 April-May is bass spawn time in Ozarks lakes. My fishing partner and I are on Stockton and Table Rock every year during the week before and after the full moon in April. And Bull Shoals at times. Night fishing during the April full moon can be extremely productive. Brown or black jig & frog, singlespin spinnerbait with a pork frog. We've caught some big bass night fishing. Make sure you have new line, 14lb. or better. Retie frequently. And have rain gear handy, you can be surprised. Quote
Painter Dude Posted January 25, 2008 Posted January 25, 2008 WELOME TO THE BOARD!! Sorry I can't help you, I have never been there myself Quote
Super User Matt Fly Posted January 25, 2008 Super User Posted January 25, 2008 Solman, First off, Welcome to the Forum. The guys have a trip planned to Lake Gunterville at the end of March. You might check into that get together if Cabin fever motivates you a little early this year. Welcome to the Forum. By the way, if you make it to Bull Shoals, lake Fork Tx isn't much further to fish one of the best fisheries in TEXAS. Hookem Matt Quote
