I'd like to take a trip to Table Rock Lake this spring/summer.  I'm wondering if any of you have booked a guided trip on TRL and if so how was the experiance?   For that matter is that matter do any of you guide on TRL?

Thanks,

Jon

What ever you do, do not get a guide that is a tournament fisher. I went on a guided trip with Mike Webb about a year ago. I mean dont get me wrong, he is a great guy, but I did not like how he "guided"... It seemed like he was taking us to CRAP spots...We found out that the next day he had a tournament, and was more than likley prefishing and trying to find spots for that day. Also, Table Rock is extreamly tough to catch bass in the summer...I would reccomend going in the spring...HOpe this helps

Give this guy a call= Pete Wenners 1-888-214-1767 and tell him Dan from Wisconsin told you to call him. I have fished with Pete many times and he is one of the better guides if not the best. I have fished with many guides on Table Rock and I only go back to Pete. He knows the lake, and he is a great guy.

I second the recommendation for Pete Wenners - I had him guide me on TR twice - the first time was about 9 years ago when my son was 6 and we also had my father-in-law who was in his 70's and very afflicted with arthritis - Pete put us on fish, spent lots of time with my son and helped my father-in-law.  We boated a ton of LMB and Spots on a drop shot (btw, this was in late June and the fish were suspended at 30 feet) - about two years later, I booked with him again.  This time it was just me and my son.  He spent the day showing us places near where we were staying and helped me get a boat rental so that we could go out the following days and replicate what he was showing us.

A wonderful guide and knows the lake well.  Check out his website' it is "hooked on bass".

Might try Eric Prey. Pro angler, guide, and marine electronics expert. Here is his website -

If you are on his site click on "Information" on the top tool bar and then go down to "Fishing Report" for about as comprehensive a report as you will get.

He also writes for 7/24 Outdoors and does fishing reports on The Rock.
