breezy Posted March 23, 2011 Posted March 23, 2011 I was in the same boat as you but very happy with the Savvy rods after using them. Quote
JDF Posted March 23, 2011 Posted March 23, 2011 I was in the same boat as well. After much research and some help from David, I broke down and ordered a champion 765. Cant wait til it comes in! Hope you enjoy yours! Quote
Aluma-Bass Posted March 24, 2011 Author Posted March 24, 2011 i like what im hearing...thanks guys!! I usually dont dump much money into my spinning setups as i do my casting setups but i have been due for a nicer spinning setup for a while now...i had to turn my head as i hit the "purchase button" not knowing much about these rods ;D but im sure it will end up being a dang good rod from what everyone is saying! 8-) Quote
Big Tom Posted March 24, 2011 Posted March 24, 2011 If you are anything like me it won't be your last. I have bought four since December. I want three more real bad. Quote

Lightweight! ;D I have bought a total of 7 since the beginning of February. Seriously, they are great rods, you'll love it. All but one of my rods is now a Dobyns, soon enough I'll list that and pick up another Savvy likely. They are great rods, especially at that price, I've got my eyes on the 692 spinning next to fill a hole between the DX701 and the Savvy 693. The casting rods are very, very comfortable in hand Quote
Big Tom Posted March 24, 2011 Posted March 24, 2011 LOL!!! ;D I can only go as fast as my bank account will allow. You are correct about the casting rods. Very comfortable. Quote
Super User KYntucky Warmouth Posted March 24, 2011 Super User Posted March 24, 2011 You should really like it. I have two casting rods, one I preordered and the other I ordered before I got the first one. Now, I'm not one to do thatbut my rationale was that Gary Dobyns help to develop the Powell Max rods, I like the Powell rods, they are a great rod for the price. If he heped design a rod that I like and then creates his own rod to rival that rod, my thought process says it should be just as good if not better and I was not let down. Quote

Me too, that and as far as the wife will allow too. ;D I ended up selling a lot of rods off to buy Dobyns stuff and have not been disappointed. Quote
