This thread is an eye opener for me.  It seems like I am the only one without pristine reels.  Anyone else with some world-weary reels?

Those tatulas are fine reels! I have two of them and to me they are perfect for anything over 1/4oz. I have tried alot of different reels from all the big manufacturers and daiwa really impressed me. The only reel I have that I like more than the tatula is my pixy px68, that is the smoothest reel I have ever had the pleasure of fishing.

Man, I just got back from fishing and all I have to say is WOW!!! I'm in love with this thing. Caught a small bass on it and it was smooth and consistent the whole time I was reeling him in. It casts far and I feel very accurate with it. I'm not using any brakes on it which I wasn't expecting to be able to do. Not to mention it looks amazing.

Seem like you made a good choice with the standard Tatula. Outside of the weight and slightly larger frame there aren't any drawbacks really. Alot of performance for the money.

I love it, man. It palms really well for me, but I have really large hands. I don't ever notice weight. I'm sure once I get to higher level reels I'll start noticing the difference, but right now, it doesn't bother me.

Finally got the met out with its new partner. No big fish but the dinks were chewing the jig: image_zpso9jbybob.jpg

Decided to put it on a megabass orochi xx emtf. Perfect 3/8 ounce jig combo. It's like they were made for each other: image_zps3qncbyn5.jpg image_zpsmsqwf11l.jpg

awesome combo!

First fish on the new rod came from the pond! Was supposed to be a dedicated crankbait rod, but the Dobyns Champion 703 Glass is SWEEEET with the bladed jigs!! This 2lb10ozer choked the black and blue rage blade on the fall. The combo didn't let me down as I felt the subtle "tick" of the line from the sensitivity of the rod and the 30lb power pro with 12lb invisx leader thrown on the curado 51e. The rod felt great while fighting the fish to the bank, plenty of backbone to set the hook too.

How do you like it? I think after I get a spinning setup for finesse, I'm gonna get a Zillion 7.3:1.

It's definitely heavier than what I'm used to, but it's so smooth and pretty! Lol. Haven't used it enough to develop an opinion on performance.

That is one of the best Zillions made and highly sought after. Nice pickup, and great choice on the rod too!

Thanks! I've been wanting one for a while, just couldn't get past the weight. I've been on the lightweight kick for the last year because of my wrists.

Nothing too fancy here! 65AB65F2-FC30-4C4F-8078-41A30E601FC6_zps

President 30X with the first gen *** 6'7" M... only costed me $90.

Got the fish slime on it too!!! Funny thing, this is the same fish I caught a week ago, but on the other side of the pond.

I throw lighter jigs, t-rigs, weightless plastics, almost anything 1/4oz and lower with this rig.

I've had the rod for a little over a week and rounded up some funds for the reel (which came in today).  About to spool her up and go out tomorrow.  Really looking forward to it!

Had all the rods out of the boat for respooling/re-rigging, lined up some of my favorites for a pic.  I just got the Orochi recently, I have a feeling it will eventually turn into more but boat upgrades are keeping the tackle monkey at bay for now :).

Something else that came through my tackle room recently, this is a wedding gift I got for a very good friend of mine who is a die-hard Abu guy...It was verrrrry hard to not just hold onto it and pick something off the registry  :).  This thing is sweet!
