So I guess the Zodias doesn't come with that Hook Keeper that I see on every picture? Anyone have any insight on this?

No hook keeper, most jdm rods dont have them...

Thanks! Wish I could wave my magic wand and make the 852 an 853 but hey... First world problems, y'know? ;)

Big bait fishing bug has bitten. Shimano Calcutta 201B on a 7'8" IRod Jr. swimbait rod. And of course the MS Slammer 7" Perch. Haven't seen any guys on my lake throwing big baits. Hopefully can show that smallies like big baits too!

That's odd... That same japanese reel fairy is supposed to drop off two Metanium 15 DC's later on this week (6.2 and 7.4). Should be getting my 2 - Zodias in the next couple hours by UPS.

Pic's of the setups later :)

**edit** speak of the devil, delivery of rods just now. lol

Teaser;

Should have everything by the end of the week. *hopefully.*

HELLO!

These things are beautiful and lightweight! Can't wait to throw them out.

JLS even threw in a surprise jig for me. Thought that was really nice of them :)

First cast and first fish on my new recon 682

OUTSTANDING !  New gear AND a fish in the photo AND it's a nice peacock...

I'm a native Floridian and grew up in Dade County - but NO peacocks back when I was there - dang!

Lol, that's terrible! These peas have us spoiled down here. If I were to move, it'll be the main thing I miss about Miami-dade.

I posted that pic of the gator in your Toho Thread cause I thought that you were a Yankee coming coming to visit from Pennsylvania or New York but I see that you already know about gators living in S. Florida. LOL

How are the bass recons? I've been thinking of getting one.

The bass recons are good rods but I personally think the m1 is a better choice it's more durable

I really like the recon. I've only fished a few rods around this price range but I would say it's my favorite by far. The only two things are that the handle is kind of thin but still comfortable. And the specs look to be on a sticker that was placed on the rod. Otherwise it's a fine rod and we'll worth its price, imo.

The m1 line doesn't have a model that's rated as low as the xx2 recons fwiw.
