Super User Gone_Phishin Posted December 19, 2014 Super User Posted December 19, 2014 Of course I know what they are! just want to see some pics I am patiently waiting for my SRD and IP79 to arrive. Lol, I misread your post...work is pretty hectic today. You are going to LOVE the Super Red Demon...it covers such a wide array of weights and is really sensitive. Quote
thehooligan Posted December 19, 2014 Posted December 19, 2014 The hedgehog/Eiger combo will be amazing 1 Quote
Super User Gone_Phishin Posted December 19, 2014 Super User Posted December 19, 2014 Isn't posting like this much better? Lol. Very nice! One of those is on my short list...want to pair it with an X7 Extreme Mission. The hedgehog/Eiger combo will be amazing Spring can't come soon enough. I am going to spool it with 5 lb fluorocarbon, and toss small jigs and t-rigs. Quote
DirtyDeuceGoose Posted December 19, 2014 Posted December 19, 2014 That's a sharp looking IP. Looking to add one to my collection as well. Quote
OK Bass Hunter Posted December 20, 2014 Posted December 20, 2014 Looking at getting the Super Red Demon myself. Quote
Super User Gone_Phishin Posted December 21, 2014 Super User Posted December 21, 2014 Looking at getting the Super Red Demon myself. Get one! You won't be sorry. Everyone should own a SRD and an X4 Destruction. Quote
IAY Posted December 22, 2014 Posted December 22, 2014 Two problems with getting a SRD right now; they are literally out of stock in most places(I checked A LOT of Japanese sites + USA ones), and they aren't in production schedule for the next 6 months. I got pretty lucky that one of the dealers still had one in stock to sell Quote
Super User Goose52 Posted December 22, 2014 Super User Posted December 22, 2014 My Daiwa squadron just added another member. Ryoga 1016H, 6.3:1 ratio, gives a measured 26.5 IPT at the top of the spool - a very handy number... The only reel I own where the sideplate is secured by allen screws! A Zillion is often referred to as a tank. Maybe, but check out this frame.................THIS is a tank! 20-position MagForce Z dial (the black ring on the sideplate): RCS 1016 spool - I'm sure the Daiwa junkies will be chiming in with spool options. I usually always include a photo of a new reel with a fish...............but unfortunately there is not much catching going on here right now. Water is still soft, but surface water temps have been around 41-43 for the last couple weeks and catching is poor. I've had it on the water for about 90 minutes over the last couple days. SOLID reel - it feels like you are holding a solid block of aluminum. Glass-smooth on the retrieve. A nifty reel indeed. It should work, reel in fish.........................as soon as I can find some fish............................ 9 Quote

John G Posted December 24, 2014 Posted December 24, 2014 My meager shimano collection...the Calcutta was my first Nice looking collection of Shimano's. Please tell me, if you were forced to sell one, and both reels were in perfect condition and assuming they are used for the same purpose, are you selling the Curado 200E or the new Curado? Quote

The E has spent so much time in my hand it feels like part of me...ive only had I since augustI am debating getting the new Scorpion or the older XT1500. I regretfully sold my 1500's a while back and here I am either buying some more or the new Scorpion. They will be primarily used for inshore fishing. Quote

John G Posted December 24, 2014 Posted December 24, 2014 John - go with the future..................not the past.................. I have handled the new Curado at DSG. I do like the way it palms better than the 1500. If I can scrounge up enough money before the end of December, I might get the 6.3:1 from Japan Tackle while it's on sale. 1 Quote
