Diggy Posted August 28, 2014 Posted August 28, 2014 Good looking Reel. How do you like it? Thanks. I like it. Its a great value. Valley Sports sold me both models for a good price. The rod is a lamiglas 735c, it compliments it really well. Quote
Hearse Posted August 29, 2014 Posted August 29, 2014 What do you guys know about a couple vintage rods?? just curious as to what this one is about it was in our gpa's shop for a LONGGGGGG time, it says Royal Fishing Tackle Co Brooklyn NY , cant find any info on it though, it has nice engraved wood handles and no idea about the rest of it. We are going to utilize some of his old rods and do some fishing with them which was his favorite past time, can I buy any proper reel for this rod? I can build a car but this has me thrown for a loop, I appreciate any help if ya'll know anything about it, thank you very much. They look way better in person or with a different camera, my cell , eh not so great . Quote
OntarioFishingGuy Posted August 30, 2014 Posted August 30, 2014 Nice picture! Great looking reel too. Quote
Greeneye8181 Posted September 5, 2014 Posted September 5, 2014 Just got the T3 Air (with KTF drag star and Hedgehog Air bearings) I've had the 1016 since last year (with Boca Bearings and Steez handle) 5 Quote
OntarioFishingGuy Posted September 6, 2014 Posted September 6, 2014 How are you liking the knobs on the T3 air? Been eying one, but the knobs look a little scrawny. Quote

I had heard the same thing about the knobs. I would probably prefer another option but I don't think its that bad but I will know better when I have it out on the water. Quote
DirtyDeuceGoose Posted September 6, 2014 Posted September 6, 2014 I feel like I'm breaking the law by not posting pictures but I'm too excited not to share. Currently have a 50th anniversary Zillion and TD-ITO 103 coming my way! Finally! Patience finally won out. Two of my dream reels soon to be in my hands. 2 Quote
Super User deaknh03 Posted September 6, 2014 Super User Posted September 6, 2014 New jig pitching combo 13 *** 7'1" MH/XF Shimano Scorpion (import) 1001XT 12lb InvizX should be here tomorrow and Only Siebert jigs and Rage Tail trailers. Nothing else deserves to be casted from this! I have the exact same combo, perfect match, and you have great taste. Quote

I picked up the new SS Air with the same knobs. Id say there slightly smaller then the 50 size shimano septon knobs Quote
dam0007 Posted September 6, 2014 Posted September 6, 2014 I have the exact same combo, perfect match, and you have great taste. haha thanks! Fishing it tomorrow in a Open Tourney. Hopefully break it in with a check! Quote

IAY Posted September 8, 2014 Posted September 8, 2014 Started getting into swimbaits about a month ago. Nothing rare, super expensive, or special but it's a good start. Nice collection, I am going to try to get some swimbait bite this fall as well; I really enjoyed throwing Jackall Kawashi Mikey 140 this spring and can't wait for the bite to pick up again. I can't throw anything too big on my set up but I got some decent ones this summer. Quote

thehooligan Posted September 9, 2014 Posted September 9, 2014 Finally got a presso and have to let the pixy and ito go. Sweet reel man, almost picked one up not too long ago. Good thing your not selling the lefty ito, im broke !! Quote
Greeneye8181 Posted September 9, 2014 Posted September 9, 2014 That Pixy Type R was almost bought a couple weeks ago but I got the T3 Air instead. Anyone own/used both for a quick comparison? I'd love to hear which is preferred. Quote
hzzhangc Posted September 10, 2014 Posted September 10, 2014 Sweet reel man, almost picked one up not too long ago. Good thing your not selling the lefty ito, im broke !! I would never let the 103 HL go. (I said the same thing to the 51s but this time I'll keep my word.) Also if I remember right you got a KTF Aldebaran. How do you like it? 1 Quote
thehooligan Posted September 10, 2014 Posted September 10, 2014 I would never let the 103 HL go. (I said the same thing to the 51s but this time I'll keep my word.) Also if I remember right you got a KTF Aldebaran. How do you like it? Its pretty sweet, really cool to see how ktf tunes there reels. Very lightweight, the ixa bearings are awesome, alot nicer then the hedgehogs. Had to mess around with the brakes for a bit, got it down to one pin on, 3 off. Its right on par with my bfs xg with ktf spool. Ive been all over the place these past few months with tackle, sold alot and bought alot For reels, i sold my conquest 51 to get your 51s. Picked up a daiwa pxl-r, new daiwa ss air, new scorpion 1001 xt, and the new conquest 101. Ended up selling the ss air, didnt like it...Sold the px, sold the scorpion, and traded the new conquest to get my old conquest 51 back, lol. This is my lineup right now, regretfully selling off the conquest to get some money back, trying to tell myself one is enough, haha. For rods, i found two new 6'5 & 6'10 cumulus rods, so i scooped them up and sold my buddy my old ones. Also sold him 2 of my 1st gen cumaras. Ive been wanting to try the quantum smoke rod for a few years now, finally picked up the 6'6 medium at the TW sale, and grabbed a new 6'8 medium cumara. Was pretty impressed with that smoke rod, especially at $100. 3.1 oz's, pretty balanced, should be a good rod to take out in the kayak. First quantum product ive bought in 15+ years Hoping i can fish more this fall and get the baitmonkey off my back !! I have 4 cases of crankbaits im selling to get some money back 2 Quote
