Nice color match.

Put a carbon fiber handle on the reel and it will match the rod even more.

What handle would you recommend?

I think a Ray's studio with orange accent parts would look good.

A new finesse special...Dobyns with a CT SV!

Sweet looking rig man!

With water levels higher than they been in a couple years and this cool front and rain, this power fisherman is gonna have to break out the pixy liberto ( yellow with purple accents) on a powell endurance 683, that's if the ramp is even safe to use.  Insane looking set up.  Gonna be a finesse kinda time.  I'll post a pic of it if I get out to the shop tonight.

This Ito arrived yesterday from a great member on here.  TD-Ito with Megabass purple spool, Zillion TW SV G1 spool, and he even threw in a free reel cover and Megabass bait!  Class act for sure!  Thank you Scrapiron!

CT SV

Is that an older reel pre-TWS line guides?

That's the second to newest version of the alphas. It has a smaller 30mm spool. The newest version is the alphas air TW with a 28mm spool and is the first time the t wing has been used in the platform.

Cool thanks! I don't know the history of all the Daiwa reels. Is there a place that has the reels in order of when they came out that you know of? Daiwa makes a lot of reels.

Finally found a rod for my Coastal SV.

7' MH Kistler Limited Edition Helium LTA with a full cork handle. Reel was too pretty not to match it.

I got my Coastal on a Helium 3. They do pair quite nicely. Bet that full cork is sweet!

2020 JDM Luvias LT 4000-CXH.  I am probably going to change the T knob to an I knob in black or cork with a champagne gold cap to match the accents of the reel.  This is the made in Japan model.  Reel weighs 7.6oz. and it’s the shallower spool JDM version of the 4000 size.

I have that same reel, what a nice piece.  I should have my RCSB SV700S shallow spool sometime this week.  Ordered from Digitaka.  Running mine on a JDM Daiwa Bass X 64LB-Y 1/16-3/8.

Most notables include ZPI spool and polished (and ported) main gear and pinion.

No, that's John Bobbitt you're thinking of.

Finally added a handle to this setup. The factory handle is puny in comparison and this is only 95mm.spacer.png

Just noticed this but does the Alphas CT 70 have an aluminum handle side plate?  It looks like the older Alphas aluminum side plates instead of the Zaion we see on most modern Alphas.  If so then that is a nice touch.  I know they drilled and shortened the handle crank to save weight.  It would have been easy to go with Zaion but it looks like they took the time to do it right and use an aluminum handle side plate. I HAVE to get one of these Alphas CTs.  With the new gen made in Malaysia TWS Alphas this might very well be the last made in Japan Alphas to be produced.  I have 4 of them already but I gotta add one more with that CT.

I'm not sure if it's Zaion or aluminum as I have yet to take it apart.  You can get the Alphas CT for ~$220 on Asian Fishing Portal.  Additionally, the RCSB SV700S spool was just released about a month ago, mine should be here today.

My money is on it being aluminum.  It doesn't have all the extra lines in it the Zaion plates have.  It looks just like the old aluminum Alphas side plates.  I saw that shallow 30mm spool but if I want to go shallower than stock then I will probably be going with UL baits and would go with on of the honeycomb aliexpress fixed inductor spools.

I use my finesse rigs for trout more than anything.  My Alphas CT is used on a Kuying Teton 662L for fishing the main rivers while my ASC is mounted on a Major Craft Troutino 4'10" and used on the brush choked creeks and headwaters.  Most of the baits I throw are 2g to 4g.

This is my Trickster.  Belive it or not but that is an UL rod.  It has a solid carbon tip with a beefy back bone.  It is made for UL bass fishing in cover.

I like the way the orange metalic in the Zonda Roso paint pairs with the orange on the lock nut.  Hard to capture in with a camera without holding it up to a light source but really obvious in person in daylight.

Alongside another fairy wand UL rig.  This one is a budget one with a used MGX I stole parts out of for my other Abu.  The one with the Abu does not have a rigid back bone and is not suitable for bass fishing anywhere near cover.

Did some gear rearranging and got my finesse rig setup yesterday, so I thought I'd show off a little bit.

Fishing from the bank, it's not really feasible to carry a huge massive loadout, so I've got these three that'll cover the vast majority of the presentations that I'd wanna throw, along with a huge backpack full of tools, tackle, bug spray, vape juice, and once I found an M&M in the bottom of the big compartment. That was a good day because who doesn't love a bonus M&M?

Anyway, here's a picture of some stuff. From left to right:

  1. My new baby, a Lew's Mach 2 strapped to a 6'9" Lew's TP-1 Black in ML/F, spooled with 15lb Power Pro V2.
  2. My crankbait/treble hook setup, a 6.8:1 Lew's LFS on a 7' M/M Falcon Bucoo, spooled with 10lb Yo-Zuri Hybrid.
  3. My jigs and weighted plastics and everything else rod, a 7.5:1 Lew's Tournament MB on a 7'2" Lew's TP-1 Black in MH/F, spooled with 40lb Sufix.

Also I didn't really intend to color coordinate, it's just that the water is about the same color and clarity as split pea soup.
