LMK if you ever want to cut that SRD loose.

Will do, so long as you promise to do the same with that Mars, they would make a cute couple and should be together. ;)  I honestly don't use the SRD to anywhere near it's full potential, I mostly use it for 2-3oz topwaters and throwing 6" weedless paddletails in heavy cover.  I actually got the SRD as I wanted something beefier then the Hyuga 72H but without the crazy long handle that most swimbait sticks have.

Will do.  I don't use my Mars at all.  I have it on the EMTF but it is way too slow at 5 something to 1 ratio for bottom contact.

Hah, we are like separated at birth fishing twins.  I also have a beloved round reel on a EMTF that never got used.

In my case it's a Ringa SSS.  It even has 6.x gears in it, but that reel yearns to bomb cast-n-crank lures and the gen 1 was way less versatile for moving baits than I thought it would be.  I have had that reel on a half dozen rods and have tried 3-4 spools in it trying to find the perfect fit. I love the reel to death though so the search goes on.

This beautiful lady showed up on the doorstep today. Looks like it's going to fit this rod perfectly. (It has an exact twin on the same model rod as well, because two is better than one).

Don Iovino custom.  Had it made in 2016.  www.iovino.com.  But I would give him a call as he is great to talk to and can make it completely custom to your order.  I also have a silver 2500C that he made for me (was one of the reels he made famous for "doodling" back in the day).

No complaints.  Give me just enough grip especially with sweaty, mid-summer hands.

I’m definitely a tackle junkie large.4FF4BF90-E512-4AC6-964F-E55F7D5B1051.jpeg.5975c2b2a90e4ffa4e3f57d1f74dd139.jpeg

Kinda cringe seeing those Shimanos sittin' in a shoebox. Classics like a '57 Chevy.

I agree. I wish I could use them all. My favorite will always be the Chronarch 100A.  These reels just aren’t in rotation right now but trust me they all get used.

Was cleaning up the tackle cave and found this old sucker in one of my boxes. My grandpa sent me some money for my 16th birthday and I made my mom take me to KMart so I could buy my first baitcaster. Also my first reel over $100. I had always wanted an Ambassadeur and the green just looked cooler than the red ones. In the 20 years I've owned it, I've never seen another one like it. Used the crap out of it, but retired it about 6 or 7 years ago.

It's a 5500C4 BASS Tour Series

My dad still won’t use anything else. Such good reels.

Newer stuff is lighter and palms better but sometimes it's fun just to take them out for a spin.

I’m the same way about the blue ones!

New trout setup.  Daiwa Alphas Air Stream Custom with a 4'10" Major Craft Troutino.  I live this little setup, a lot of fun to fish.  Both the rod and reel together weigh less than my Penn Fierce III 1000 spinning reel.

And my custom 4500, probably my new favorite in my arsenal.  Chromed brass frame from a 4500C, lightweight spool and single bearing level wind from a new production 4600 C3, and ultralight Bakelite brake blocks.  She's a screamer.

It feels exceptional in the house. Haven't had a chance to get it on the water yet, but I'm excited.

The wife was looking for some photos and found this one from 1984 of my entire bass arsenal and tackle stash.  At the time this was a lot.  Now, not so much.

Some nice Ambassadeurs there!  Looks like my dad's stuff back around the same time.  I see a Fenwick Flippin' Stick I believe too.  And that Lew's BB1N needs a rod!  :)

That's great...I enjoyed looking at your ancient arsenal.  I immediately noticed all the pistol grips...Larry nixon approved wormin' machines I'm sure ?.  I was 6yrs old in '84, so I was probably still using a snoopy spincast combo.  I've seen people post their old rod/reel combo from yesteryear, but never a complete arsenal.  You were a pioneer...you had the tournament arsenal before tourneys were common.
