First impression is the build quality of the Xtreme vs the NRX, the NRX looks like a budget rod next to the Xtreme. The next observation is the Xtreme has a weightless feel when fishing tip up, Not so with a comparable NRX. And the biggest difference is the crispness of the sensitivity, the Xtreme transmits what's going on in ultra high definition, the NRX is remarkably sensitive as well but not like the Xtreme. It's like a Corvette ZR1 trying to compete with a Porsche 911 GT2 RS. The Corvette is amazing in it's own right but the Porsche just makes it unfair. 1 Quote

The reengineered SCV carbon found in the new Legend Xtreme is an example of St. Croix’s constant drive to obtain the unimaginable – proven Xtreme durability with proven, unprecedented sensitivity – so anglers can fish without compromise. Engineered as a result of a new proprietary manufacturing process, the new Legend Xtreme employs a resin that significantly increases strength in compression during the hookset, as well as flexural strength when the rod is under load. The new SCV carbon construction also incorporates an improved, overlaid ART (Advanced Reinforcing Technology) to yield the highest levels of carbon fiber density found on any fishing rod on earth. Simply put, the new Legend Xtreme offers an unquestionably pure and dense carbon, to transmit the slightest vibration through a carbon fiber guide train and proprietary handle, all while achieving a tensile strength never attained in any previous St. Croix fishing rod. Big-Bass Posted April 9, 2020 Posted April 9, 2020 Toying around with some spinning stuff. Love my Legend Xtreme and who would have thought how much of a workhorse (and a rod match) the pre-LT Daiwa RG 3000 reel is. And the balance on the 7’ M is perfect! 6 Quote
ThatZX14Fella Posted April 10, 2020 Posted April 10, 2020 Thanks to you guys, I think I'm going to pick up an older, used Steez and Megabass Orochi Peak. I wanna play with the cool kids. Quote

DomQ Posted April 19, 2020 Posted April 19, 2020 The girlfriend wanted her own reel, so I turned a curado 200G6 into a reel she will like. I sanded down some edges to make it look like it's been beat up and threw on some new knobs. 3 Quote

I don't know yet I haven't had any of my new rods out on the water yet. I just got the 4 rods last week. Hopefully next week I'll be out on the water. The Falcon I ordered is the 6'11" Heavy Casting, "Bayou" Froggin/Pitchin. It is a very nice rod, very good back bone. It is very light, I think it was about 4.0-4.1 oz when I checked my digital scale. Very high quality rod for sure. 1 Quote
Super User Tywithay Posted April 22, 2020 Super User Posted April 22, 2020 Was cleaning up the tackle cave and found this old sucker in one of my boxes. My grandpa sent me some money for my 16th birthday and I made my mom take me to KMart so I could buy my first baitcaster. Also my first reel over $100. I had always wanted an Ambassadeur and the green just looked cooler than the red ones. In the 20 years I've owned it, I've never seen another one like it. Used the crap out of it, but retired it about 6 or 7 years ago. It's a 5500C4 BASS Tour Series 10 Quote

I am not a huge fan of the grip however, I would rather it have been eva or even cork. It is okay, just different I suppose. It loads well and casts a JB really good though. I don't need an Expride or Poison Adrena for a JB so this fits the bill nicely. 2 Quote

I passed up the chance to buy a Mars a few years ago for a great price, there was a poorly labeled one on ebay for a minute. Then I ended up getting a too-good-to-miss deal on a Super Red Demon and now I'm kicking myself for not jumping on the Mars. The 19 Ryoga looks great on it but the Mars would have been perfect. 2 Quote
