I bought it to use a jerkbait rod that could also pull weightless plastics duty and maybe small jigs. This rod was supposed to be super versatile and have 30% more rigid back bone thanks to the kabt fibers. The rod is a fairly average medium powered rod. The kabt fiber do nothing to give it any more backbone from what I can see. I was expecting it to be like my Zodias 72M but the Zodias has way more backbone and is better for plastics and jigs. The BE2's handle is also longer than the Zoidas and too long for my tastes for jerkbait use. It didn't live up to the description of the rod which is a shock because all other Megabass rods I have knock it out of the park in that regard. This one was kinda a dud so I'm going to use it as a shallow crankbait and topwater rod and it seems like it will work really well. All the talk about the kabt fibers didn't pan out. It's not just BE2 being softer than a M Zodias, the gen 2 Orochi XX rods are constructed the same way and guys are saying they are softer than the old XX rods. That’s too bad it wasnt what you wanted. The Black Themis is basicly a “ML/XF Spinning rod”, which is exaclty what I was looking for. Do you feel like the BE is far off from the deflection chart? Falkus Posted April 2, 2019 Posted April 2, 2019 Got email from my rod builder Swapped out the cheap foam thing to cork on my falcon rod. Not only that, added new tip on it. Before: After: 8 Quote

Super User Columbia Craw Posted April 7, 2019 Super User Posted April 7, 2019 Stumbled on this new Cousins E-glass cranking rod, 7'3" Med Heavy. The price was to good to pass it up. My son was tickled. He loves glass rods. 2 Quote

It's an Alphas Air Stream Custom with Pixy sideplates and Pixy spool. Aluminum frame Pixy maybe? Tim’s (hoohoorjoo) reel was an Alphas air stream frame with Alphas type F sides. The gears are from a pxr. 1 Quote

Yea, one more price drop and I would have been unable to resist. Let me know if you ever want to sell it. 3 hours ago, BaitFinesse said: Do you consider that a Pixy or an Alphas? Yea, with the guts and spool being a Pixy I am inclined to call it a Pixy but I think it's a toss up. Maybe it's a Pixhas? Alpixy? Plphas? I got an Airy Red Pixzilla from him as well, can't remember if I posted it though. It's now living on a P3 Criffhanger but I don't have any glamour shots the combo yet. 2 Quote

Smoother and more consistent drag, better durability ( bail seems to sometimes get stuck for some reason , and is loose for some reason on the tatula for being my newer reel ) other than that it reels smoother than other budget reels 1 Quote

I have only fished with my Tatula on 3 or 4 trips, but so far I like the bail and how it closes better than on my Stradic. That may change the more that I use it. So far I am happy with both reels. 1 Quote
CrankFate Posted April 17, 2019 Posted April 17, 2019 I’m done for a while. I recommend the Mgxtreme2 to anyone who wants a small, light, solid reel. I also recommend the KLX Heavy Mod should be made with much bigger guides. 6 Quote
Super User fishwizzard Posted April 19, 2019 Super User Posted April 19, 2019 Airy Red Pixzilla on a P3 Criffhanger. Got it out for some pond hopping on Wed and am loving it. It’s fun as hell and is looking like a great combo for a lot of the overgrown ponds I fish. The reel puts my thumb to the test though, I think I am going to bump up to 10lb Sniper from the 7lb I'm using now to get a little more overrun forgiveness. 8 Quote

Assuming the magnets are the same between the Airy Red and Silver Mica the spool is really only super fast when pitching and roll casting and behaves normally when casting over your shoulder. That has been my experience at least. Hah, that day was all pitching, roll casting, and one-handed flicks to get the lures around shoreline cover and to try and keep the thin tip from impacting said cover. I maybe made a dozen normal casts all day at most. 1 Quote
