"Family" pics:received_726402561089044.thumb.jpeg.982fc09cc5fc80a39253b1e2899cfab7.jpeg

Upper left is a Piscifun Phantom 7.0:1 reel. I changed the knobs for cork knobs instead of original EVAs. It will be paired with a Fenwick Techna AV 6'6" MHF as a spinnerbait setup. Upper right is a good ol' Citica 200e, 6.3:1 with a Curado spool, bushing replaced with a bearing and a longer straight aftermarket carbon fibre handle with cork knobs with gunmetal accents. It will be paired with a Fenwick Lunker Stick 7'3" MM and is my cranking setup. Lower left is a Curado 200IHG (7.2:1) with upgraded swept carbon fiber handle and cork knobs, gunmetal/milled alu accents. It is paired with a Mojo Bass 7'11" Flippin' Rod for heavier jigs (over 1/2oz). Lower right is a KastKing Spartacus Plus that had its handle replaced with a carbon fiber one with just a tad smaller cork knobs than original. Is actually orphan.

The Spartacus would look good on the new regular Lightning Rod.  The 66M is a good jerkbait stick.

I already own a Bass X 6'6" MF for JB. I thought about maybe doing 2 pieces rod setup to fit car trunk.

I've been coveting this 7' Legend Xtreme for years and it feels awesome to finally have landed one. I think I'm going to run the Tatula LT silver edition on it because.. well it looks pretty awesome.

Have some Ray's Studio Red Frame screws on the way for my Fuego CT. Do they use the same 2mm head Hedgehog Studios screws do? Going to buy the Wera driver, but want to double check size first. I have sent the seller a message but figured I'd ask here too..

Edit - Yes they use the same 2mmn hex head.

Ok, got the screws and hex driver today! Any tips to not mess up the anodization on the screws? Go very slowly? Anything else?

I know the handle nut trick involves covering the nut with a sandwich bag. I would think the hex driver might slip if you do the same thing. My best solution has always been to keep the bit seated tight so it doesn't slip.

By all means use as much care as you can, but at the end of the day you are sticking a hardened steel tool into a far far softer hole.

Looks great dude.  About how many hours did the entire process take?

Last year the rain robbed me of wade-fishing opportunties and I am already champing at the bit to get out there.

It's a Loomis SJR6400 IMX with a Stradic FJ1000 on it.  I want to get into making and fishing hairjigs in a bunch of the small suburban streams around where I live and I think this might be the perfect rod for it.  The low end of it's rating seems way way off, 1/64oz does not even come close to loading the tip.  But once the lure weight gets up to around 1/8oz it really shines.  It will cast well up to around 3/16oz and the power/taper is about perfect for MWF and Slider fishing as well.  Right now I have 6lb Supernatural mono on it but I cannot get it to feel like I have it spooled on correctly, it might still be a little thick for the small spool.  If it doesn't work out I am going to try a few of the fancy JDM monos before I give up and use braid/leader.

I’d say roughly about 8hrs total. 1-2hrs in taking it apart and prepping all the parts. 1hr worth of cleaning all the parts for when it was finished. 5hrs in the whole paint process. Then another 1hr to put it all back together after it sat for a week.

@BaitFinesse thanks! Really digging it. Looks so good on the Abu Vendetta. Yes it is the Ray's Studio knob and screws. Next up red brake dial screw then I think I'm done with this one. Maybe red knob caps.

I'm a finesse addict, these are gonna be my 3 combos in the rod locker this year:

7ELujbaEB9sQ56yxAaOR3qAAtI1jpXycMYGZTNFp

L to R

Daiwa Tatula Elite 7'1 M AGS Ehler rod w/ ballistic LT 2500 - dropshot rod

Gloomis GLX 852S JWR w/ ballistic LT 3000 - small swimbaits/wacky/shakey head

St Croix Legend Xtreme w/ taula LT 3000 silver - ned/neko

I'm really excited to pit each rod against eachother to see which one is really superior. The GLX and Legend are new to me. Last year the Daiwa AGS was a total pleasure, so we'll see if these two are THAT much better.

Man, at this point you might as well get a MB Addermine and have a complete "test".  ?

What line are you using on these combos?
