Kidflex Posted July 5, 2016 Posted July 5, 2016 My girlfriend got me this for my birthday July 1st. Steez 7'4"xh so naturally I had to buy a matching reel. Steez 100h deep spool. Gonna be my frog/heavy football jig/flipping set up. Among my 4-5 other frog/flip rods lol 5 Quote
d-camarena Posted July 6, 2016 Posted July 6, 2016 Wow that ci4+ curado 70xg sure looks nice. Anymore info on it? I want one but with a quick search i couldnt find any. Is it jdm? Quote

If you're talking about the black reel next to the 70 XG in my picture, it's a a Scorpion HG, which is a JDM Curado like kickerfish said. 1 Quote

I had a last generation ci4+ and sold it because it did not feel as solid as my FK...it felt hollow to me for lack of a better term. This one feels more like the FK and is even lighter than the outgoing ci4+. Do you like the ci4+ or the FK better? Also where did you get the ci4+? thanks Quote
Super User Master Bait'r Posted July 8, 2016 Super User Posted July 8, 2016 Just going to put this right here in celebration of the new Pixie R... My 4 horsemen, right to left as listed: 7'2" HXF 13NVBlack, w/ Lew's BB1 Pro and 40# Smackdown. Tied on is a Slither K. 6'10" MHF Megabass Destroyer Phase 3 Elseil w/ Shimano Exsence DC and 8# CXX. Tied on is a 5" Mag Draft. 7'1" MXF G. Loomis 852c w/ Daiwa PXL Type R and 20# Smackdown. Tied on is a t-rigged Huddle Bug. 7'1" MLXF 13NVBlack w/ Shimano Stella 2500S and 8# Gliss. Tied on is a Keitech Mono Spin Jig with a TRD trailer aka TungsteNed. And the "kids' rods", which I "sometimes use too" lol (Right to left) 6'6" MHF Ugly Stick Elite w/ an Abu Cardinal STX30 reel and 30# Suffix 832. Tied on is a 1/2 oz Mendota rigged savage 3D craw. 6'3" MF 13OmnBlack w/ a Skeet Reese Pro Carbon 2500 reel and 6# CXX. Tied on is an OSP Bent Minnow. 6' MF Berkley Amp w/ a Shimano Sienna 2500FD and 10# PP. Usually a t-rig or Ned rod. Probably going to just sell that middle kid combo for a rod to put my old Ito reel on for cranks, spinnerbaits and jerks. It seems I just like casting rigs better for that kind of thing. Feeling pretty good about what I'm running now though, so just adding and dialing as I have time and expendable income. 10 Quote
Super User rippin-lips Posted July 12, 2016 Super User Posted July 12, 2016 It's now 100% Gooseified Sun - 11 fish in 2hrs on the wacky rig. Mon - 9 fish in 4hrs on the wacky rig. I also decided to get it a proper reel. 6 Quote

Super User rippin-lips Posted July 19, 2016 Super User Posted July 19, 2016 I'm digging this reel. Had to swap out the factory knob. Too skinny for my liking. Time to test out how well the drag works 6 Quote

Yeah, same here. 5 + 1 spinning combo. I have unused combos but those 6 can cover all of my bases. You'll love that jbs. Assuming that's what it is. It's a great rod. 1 Quote
Super User Master Bait'r Posted July 19, 2016 Super User Posted July 19, 2016 It's actually the FSS. I wanted the extra length. Cant really comment on how it fishes but in hand (I'll find out tomorrow around sunrise) but it is certainly a nice package. Feels super comfortable in hand and all the components, fit and finish are on par with expectations for sure. Quote

I can say I use my jbs a lot. It's a fun squarebill and popper rod. If they are remotely close you won't be disappointed. 1 Quote

Nothing big, but I can safely say I'm going to enjoy the heck out of this rod. It is exactly what I was looking for although the gloss reel seat (aside from being SUPER comfortable) gets a little slippery when wet. Other than that, it is pretty much perfect. I can only imagine how much fun the JBS is with that short twitch length! 1 Quote
JROD_fishing Posted July 21, 2016 Posted July 21, 2016 5 new MHX rods I built this year. All with Microwave casting guides, and Winn Grips. Thanks to Mudhole Custom Tackle for providing ALL the equipment to build my rods and MHX for making an amazing blank. 5 Quote
