Custom Curado 50e and a MHX Spin jig 842 but trimmed to 6'10. Dedicated jerkbait and small topwater outfit. Reel seat was sourced from Matagi in what is called vintage green which is sort of mettalic green marble color. Perfect match for the reel! Fuji alconite guides with green and gold trim work. Full cork handle and gold winding checks. match made in heaven!! 1 Quote
Cyacnba Posted June 28, 2016 Posted June 28, 2016 Since I can't go fishing that much, I might as well collect reels and maybe some rods from now on lol. My newest additions: 1. Daiwa SV103H. It matches perfectly with the Tatula rod (color wise). 2. Shimano 15 Metanium DC HG. This one will go to my grandfather when I visit him. 3. Daiwa Zillion J-Dream 7.9 RH. I won this one on an auction in Buyee for 23000 yen a few weeks ago. It's still in excellent conditon from how it looks like (no scratches at all). I might get a Megabass rod for the J-Dream. I was thinking of the Orochi XX DSR or Tour Versatile, but not sure yet. 4 Quote
Super User rippin-lips Posted June 28, 2016 Super User Posted June 28, 2016 I have my dream on a tour versatile. Nice combo for sure. I have my eye on a different rod if you're interested in it. Quote
Super User rippin-lips Posted June 29, 2016 Super User Posted June 29, 2016 Might as well show it off before I sell it. Not what I was looking for. 1 Quote
Super User kickerfish1 Posted June 29, 2016 Super User Posted June 29, 2016 Here is part two of my latest custom build acquisitions as the other was posted a few nights ago. I chose a modded Core 50mg7 to pair with a MHX Hi Mod MBR 843. Fugi alconite guides with black and red thread wrap helped dress it up. The foregrip piece was soureced from Matagi and all other parts were from Mudhole except one piece from GetBitOutdoors. Between the foam grips is a red and black carbon tube and there are red winding checks throughout. It turned out pretty sharp and perfect for the core. Will be using this for weightless plastics and smaller jigs and such. 11 Quote

I normally don't comment in this thread anymore unless I see a bass in the photos but you sure have put together some VERY nice rigs... NOW - time to slime them up.... 3 Quote
Super User kickerfish1 Posted June 29, 2016 Super User Posted June 29, 2016 I figured I would catch a bit of grief over that . However, having line on them is the first step in the right direction. With an extended holiday weekend and a forecast that is calling for milder temps, I should be able to add slime! 1 Quote

I'm a Georgia Tech fan/alum so I typically have a strong negative reaction to all things red and black, but that's pretty friggin' sharp. I feel dirty for admitting that. Quote
Super User kickerfish1 Posted June 30, 2016 Super User Posted June 30, 2016 Georgia Tech eh? So black and gold? That was covered a few months back but in case you missed it. Then it joined forces with the next two builds. With these 3 outfits I can cover anything from 1/4 to 3/4 ounces. 3 Quote

Thanks though. -------------------------------------------------- All the reels I have with me so far. It was my first time "customizing" (just the RCS cork knob) my reels, and it was easier than what I thought. I had to sacrifice one of the J-Dream's knob though due to the screw getting stuck... 4 Quote

Yeah, I'm not sure. It depends on what you're looking for. It's rated as an F6 and in Megabass speak it's a medium heavy. Quote

The second is a Daiwa Aird 2000 on a Daiwa Aird 7' medium power fast action. These are my main two spinning setups as for now. I plan on upgrading the Aird reel to the Compre sometime, and move the Orra to a Crucial. Baitcast setups coming in the next post or two. Do you still have your Aird spinning reel? If so, could I ask a favor...? I'm trying to find out what the drag stack looks like. Could you take it apart and take a picture of it for me? I'd really appreciate it, if you're comfortable with pulling it apart that is. Thanks in advance! Quote
nameiztaken Posted July 3, 2016 Posted July 3, 2016 Got these pics while tinkering with exposure and stuff, turned out pretty good IMO, and yes, it was sunset. 2 Quote
curtis9 Posted July 4, 2016 Posted July 4, 2016 New summer combo. 68mxf legend elite with a Curado 70. I love this rod, lightweight and fantastic balance. Went out with this rod in the kayak this morning for a few hours and did well. I'm not sure about the reel yet. The braking system is going to take some time to get used too. 6 Quote

Not much info on those and they seem to be a really versatile reel with a lot of potential. Quote

You're never going to put that rod down. I have the 7'MH and it's in my hands non stop. I just wish they made a 7'4 MH to go with the 7'4 H because I would have a line of of all Legend Elites lol Quote

I've been using mine since March and can't hardly put it down when they're on a jig or plastics bite. 6 Quote
