Finally able to find a J Dream limited for a good price and in really good condition. #dreamteam

Nice pick up, I finally grabbed a NIB Zonda myself. Which rod is yours riding on?

I think I'm going to put it on my emtf for now until I sell off some gear. Then I'll grab an XX perfect pitch for it probably. We'll see what happens. I'm back up to having more combos than I want so I gotta sell off some things before anymore buying happens.

Want a low profile reel for CB in a 5+ gear ratio. Only one Shimano makes is RH only. So started looking at Steez models and couldn't find one in that lineup either. Is anyone throwing bigger cranks 5, 6XD on the 6.2 Metanium? Not worried about the speed but everyone says how you will burn out your arm/fingers throwing the bigger DD on the faster ratios. So wondering how it is with the 6.2 Met. Or if I'm overlooking a Steez in that ratio let me know. Could go with ABU but really don't want too. Thanks guys!

Nothing custom or anything, but it's still a team Lew's lite on a LTB 6'8" MF. This setup is so easy to handle, and versatile to boot!image.thumb.jpeg.4faa8d8e34a3bd9d32d8ea3

I can't believe I haven't seen anyone post pics of the 16 Mentaniums yet? I just had to buy 13's because only the RH is available right now. Most which are selling for less than 13's! What a kick in the butt that is. The new ones IMO are nicer, I like that they are all silver. Just got new rods and couldn't wait till end of May/June for the new ones. Currently fishing tournaments with 2 rods 1 spinning 1 baitcaster and it's not very productive. So made the decision to buy the 13's now and the 16's when available. Will post pics of new NRX rods and reels once I get them.

I feel your pain man.  I am a fellow Lefty that would love to be snagging up a 16 to compare to my 13 with a Microcast shallow spool.  I have mine on a NRX also...a 803C JWR.  It is a phenomenal combo...as good as you can get.  What is yours going on?

Supertuned?

Disassembled, cleaned, re-greased, carbon drag discs, every bearing upgraded (Ceramics on the spool, Japanese stainless "ABEC 7s" everywhere else), Microcast Spool, longer carbon handle, etc.  Basically made my best effort make a great reel even better.

Ok, that's what I thought, was just wondering. :) I ordered some Ceramics for my Lew's also.

Just fyi, that isn't a supertune.  Sweet set up though.

Nice combo Matt, and congrats on the PB crappie!

Simply search for "supertune". It is not so much upgrades as it is the polishing of various friction points inside a reel.

I read quite a bit on super tuning in the past.  I know that often times polishing is involved in addition to upgrading the bearings, drag, and spool?  With the micro-gear setup used in the Conquest, I am just not sure what parts would need to be polished.  Have either of you supertuned a Conquest or a shimano reel using this type of gear set?  Many of the parts I would normally polish simply don't seem like they need it.

Sorry, I guess I should just call it heavily upgraded.  Either way, I am in love.

You could PM DVT for an expert explanation, but to my knowledge, it's basically polishing contact points to reduce friction as much as possible. Which ones, I don't know, but I do know it makes a huge difference in casting distance with some reels, but not all of them.

spool shaft ends, internal bore of pinion gear, metal clutch parts, tension disks if they are brass, sometimes polishing the drag washers is a part of a supertune.   You can even go as far as polishing the lips of your spools.    Just depends on how detailed you want to get.

I don't get huge gains in casting distance just the ease of casting, less effort.  Drags washers for sure benefit from it.

Recently picked up a Quantum Exo PT100 ($99) and a St. Croix Mojo Bass 7'0" MHF ($89) rod.
