I like the older extreme H I have but its hideous.  This gives me hope.  I like how soft the tip is for a H powered stick.  Old "powerwall" construction makes the things darn near immortal if a bit heavy.

Yes! I absolutley love the rod... for lots of applications. It will cast a wide range of weights and is my absolute favorite frog rod. I have 2, one is now raw graphite and red (in the photo), the other is primer grey and black. I should weigh them, they should be MUCH lighter now than they were off the shelf.

Stripping down a rod to bare graphite is a major pain, but I was willing to do it for this blank.

One thing I absolutly love about it... when you stick a fish with it, they very rarely come off. I tried a x-fast rod for frogging and lost way too many fish after a good initial hookup.

Sometimes you have to love a beater...

Ambassadeur C4 with some upgrades:

Bearing supported cog wheel

Ceramic pawl

Lighter brake blocks

100mm white acrylic knob handle

Cleaned, bearings flushed, everyone lubed, and it ZINGS!

It's got some marks cosmetically but this is going to be a crank/chatter/spinnerbait machine.

One to show off.  My buddy Donny is coming down in a few weeks to kayak fish the coast flats.  He's a Colorado high-country trout fisherman, can disappear for weeks with his survival skills, flew rescue in AK, with a love of the salt and itching to get more salt time.  I have a 7' MM ready to go for him.  When another friend pointed out the worm-drive Tica Samira 2000H with $50 loss leader pricing on Amazon, I couldn't resist.  Also couldn't resist Japan Tackle pricing on the SLP 60 mm handle, and the closeout Ulucus knob, $19, almost a twin of the Daiwa knob (and better matches the reel).  The high speed gearing is improved for this niche (redfish) by the extra 5 mm.  Matched with the 7'7" Omen Green ML, 1/16th to 5/16th ounce, and 150 yds 10-lb Tatsu with Blue 15-lb abrasion leader.

It's finally here!

I needed (well... wanted, really) a dedicated jerkbait/small topwater setup. Got myself the JDM Zodias, 6'10M. For some reason Shimano decided that we can't have the USDM model over here, but I'm pretty sure they're the exact same rod - the only differences being this one detaches at the handle, because reasons, and lack of a hook keeper.

Oh, and it comes with a rather nifty carrying thingy.

It'll pair up nicely with the Curado MGL, just need to spool it with 30lb 832.

Nice.  I'm a fan of 6-10 rods.  Don't be surprised if a bill shows up from fedex for customs/duty fees.

My friend who sent 4 reels for me to customize threw in a diminutive Tica Cetus as a gift.

Since I was buying a DLH load of parts from Japan, threw in the parts to pimp-out the Cetus.  The result:

Loaded with 4-lb Toray Exthread fluoro (basically Tatsu equivalent, low memory, wants to leave the spool)

I got it from a local store. Shimano actually pushes some JDM stuff in the European market, like the Zodias and the Expride, and some reels like the Vanquish. Everything else is straight from their USDM catalog. They're hawkish in controlling everything though their own distribution channel, so much so that on Tackle Warehouse stuff like Shimano reel covers or t-shirts, or even spools of Power Pro, can't be sold overseas because Shimano North America won't allow it.

And over here FedEx makes us pay duties and fees on delivery, as per EU rules ?

Found these Daiwa orange handles closing out in NZ (Marine Deals) from a marketing blitz there and Oz - Daiwa Custom Color Project.  The orange anodize matches Tica Libra SX trim.

I thought the rainbow Origin Dress reel-stand/hook-keeper looked especially nice across from the Livre EP30 knob on this salty Tica

I raided the color parts spares.  Nice to see that old Ambassadeurs can cake modern CC knobs.  This one is off a Black Max.  Will probably need an additional shim unless a tiny bit of play is fine with these reels.

This reminds me of the inside graffiti of the foot soldiers arcade/lair in the original 1988 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie!  Haha!  Love it!

Is that the 5600 model?

4600C4.  The narrow version of the reel and to me more comfortable to fish with overall.
