Bought two more combos to add to my Legend AGS Xtreme collection.

6ft8 medium extra fast spinning paired with a Certate Lt for shaky heads

7ft medium heavy fast casting paired with a Steez SV TW for a general purpose back up on the deck.

What size Certate?  I just picked up a 4000-CXH.

Here is my Certate 4000-CXH.  Changed out the knob to an RCS cork with a champagne gold cap.  Best wishes on the water!

It's a LT2500-XH, I thought about the clear coated cork knob but it didn't go well with the Xtreme color, mine is the black RCS cork.

My only Baitcasting set up. Also my 1st higher end rod. Absolutely love it. Its like a feather for walking the banks and super sensitive. Curado DC is my 1st casting reel too. Thing casts a mile

B-but there is not cork on the rod??  You're giving me OCD here.  Looks great though.

There is on the Megabass rod that I put it on!  :)

That’s some sweet gear dude. How do you like the bantam on the expride. Was thinking of putting that together this winter.

I like it a lot; well-balanced and comfortable to palm. The Expride lives up to most, if not all, of the hype.

Hey I have a bunch or NRX's and never thought I would be interested in any other rod but this year's new Xtreme definitely intrigues me. Do you think they are better multi purpose rods or a good replace flipping stick? I am either going to replace 853 or my 854. I use 853 for a bunch of applications but my 854 is strictly for flipping. Thanks!

I had 8 NRX rods back in 2018 and out of those rods I did have a 853c and a 854c

The 7ft4 legend extreme AGS would definitely have a lot more power than the 854C and would make a great flipping  stick in addition to a biffle/swinghead rod and a good offshore football jig rod, it balances perfectly with the Steez A that's mounted on it.

The 7ft Medium Fast Extreme AGS casting rod very similar to the NRX 853c and is a awesome multipurpose rod.

The 7ft medium heavy fast Extreme AGS, is a little to heavy to be a multipurpose rod, think of it as a 853+ I use mine for "mag" type baits in 15 fow or less and  in close quarters situations if a longer rod is not practical.

Thanks dude, super helpful! I am about to pick up a Steez A today! And hopfully the new Zillion 10 for flipping in a week or so. I was a full shimano guy but needed a change.

No problem, to me putting a shimano on as St. Croix is sacrilegious, especially now that besides St. Croix and Daiwa having a partnership of sorts before the AGS guides, they actually have Daiwa parts on their rods.

Same with Megabass, I wouldn't put a Shimano reel on a Megabass rod.

But that's just me.

You'll be extremely pleased with the Legend Xtreme AGS series if you decide to go that route.

I had a partial reboot at the beginning of the year. These are my main set ups. Not wanting anything for a while. Daiwa reels are all Tatula SV tws, Shimano are Bantam MGL, and Curado K1735889729_castingsetups.thumb.jpg.a0976b6be5362feba6482374d7b6c4c8.jpg

Dug around my storage closet back at the parents house to get rid of old tackle and stumbled upon some hidden gems I must've bought back in college forever ago...

Talk about jackpot.

Oh and also found this baby. Still mint! Probably wont ever get around to adding it to my regular rotation at this point...

Needs a Zodias.  Maybe when the new ones get released there will be a blowout sale on the old ones. The 172M is a good stick.

I just put it on this for now.

Added an Abu to my ultralight arsenal.  I have yet to fish it, but I did cast around the yard for a bit with a 1/16 jig with the hook nipped off.  Seems to work pretty good so far.  This weekend will be its first trip on the water.

Nice reel. Looks like they've taken the whole shallow spool concept to the limit.

Polished Alphas Ito Ai.  These are unpainted aluminum frame and handle side plate Alphas with an anodized red main gear (because Megabass is why).  These can be had in pretty rough shape for cheap and be polished up.  This is my 1st attempt. I just used the wheels and polish that came with my $59 Menards dremel kit.  It came out OK.

The problem with these reels is that the clear non handle side plate and nose plate are very brittle and crack.  Both of mine were cracked so I replaced the nose plate with a chrome one from an Alphas SV and practicing my chrome painting skills on some random plastic objects until I can perfect it and chrome paint at new side plate.

I also added a red level wind, an older Ray's Studio finesse spool and Daiwa OG clear cork knobs.  Next comes some red screws and maybe a dial screw.

Mine was almost in identical condition to this one in the blog link below.  Heavily oxidized and yellowed clear parts.  My side plate was cracked in the same area around the mag dial and eventually broke clean the same way.  Toothpaste and elbow grease got rid of the yellow on the clear plastic parts (car head lamp trick).

I just checked prices on these to backup my statement.  What happened to Alphas and TD Zillion prices the past year or two. Suddenly through the roof on ebay.  I payed $100 for mine and the sideplate and nose plate were still usable then.

Most of the people that I know that had an Ai and fished it did so by using a sideplate from a Sol or similar, put the clear plate away so it would not scratch, crack and get brittle.
