Enjoyed the video.

I have some of the same rods from shimano and megabass. Most of my reels are shimanos though.

I only have three Lews reels-  Pro TI, Hypermag and older Speed spool TSHS.

Like you, I enjoy trying new tackle out to see if they fit my needs. If not, then they get sold or traded.

Yea, there's no reason to hang onto a rod you know you're not going to use that much. Thanks for watching.

The Pro Ti is a pretty fantastic reel. Is it $350 fantastic? I dunno. I got mine used for like 240.

Nice combos! I'm holding onto some of my "beginner" set ups for my kids. Right now they're using 6' spinning rods, but one day they'll use some of my other combos.

Nice video!
You already got the Otomat. Let us know how you like it. It's an interesting rod. I was hoping Megabass added a Braillist version to the Destroyer line. I'm looking for a weightless t-rig plastics/senko rod and the closest Megabass has in the Destroyer line seems to be the Daemos. But I'm thinking NRX 893 or Conquest 903 are going to be better. I noticed you use GLX 893 for light t-rigs. Does it perform better than Daemos for this application?

The 893 is definitely more powerful than the Daemos. The Deamos has a softer action and is only rated up to 3/8th. It's more of what I would consider to be a "medium" power rod vs a true MH like the 893. The Deamos really excels at single hook moving baits AND can also be used for light t-rigs and weightless Senkos. If im dragging the bottom with a t-rig worm I'd be crazy not to use the 893.. it's one of the best blanks ever for that.

I mostly use the Deamos for paddle tail 3-4" swimbaits & spinnerbaits. I personally toss weightless Senkos on spinning gear most of the time.

The Otomat is definitely the softest rod in the Destroyer line. I used it a bit this week and MAN does it bomb a popmax. I was shocked how far I can toss a topwater plug on it. I have a feeling I'm going to love the Otomat.

Are the cork handle from an Abu reel?  If so then they have larger knob diameters than Daiwa/Shimano.  I don't know what size shafts the Kawa handle has.  I am going to remove my Kawa knobs from the handle and fit them to a Daiwa style carbon handle at some point.

If the Kawa handle won't take Abu knobs then you can get a Ray's Studio DIY carbon handle for $30 off Aliexpress.  They come in an Abu knob shaft version.

I’ll find out when it gets here tomorrow.  I requested one that fits Abu Garcia and they said they’d send that. We shall see.

Hopefully that means that means the knob shafts are 5mm and not just that the handle fits onto Daiwa and Abu reels.

If not then for under $30 there is the Ray's Studio handle from Weihai Fishing Store on Aiexpress.

I have a number of these handle.  I have one and a carbon drag star on one of my Alphas SVs.

Looks Good! I think I have that drag star in the grey/silver color with purple.

The Conquest rod feels impossibly light.  I weighed it compared to my NRX 852s, which already is absurdly light.  NRX - 3.73oz  Conquest - 3.39oz

Well as a co-angler I only take 5 set ups with me and it seems as though they are always changing. I think I have settled on a starting 5. They are all on Denali fission rods. I bought these rods to just "try" and would assume I would have already moved back to my Crucials, but these are still being used.

Left to right Scorpion BFS XG on a 6'8" M, Curado 150 DC on a 6'10" MH, Scorpion 70 XG on a 7'2" MH, Core 50Mg7 on a 7'2" MH, Curado K on a 7'2" H

Got it today. Nice handle, but the Abu knobs do not fit. It came with grey camo knobs, but I really want the Abu cork handles.  Do the Rays Studio handles come in 105 or 110mm sizes? The reason I want the handle is the Abu handle is way too small.

Studio Composites in Japan makes the nicest handles I have ever seen.  Hawgtech and Rays are a MUCH better value.

I have one on my Met DC and '13 Met.  They're flawlessly finished and beyond stiff.

You can get them in either a 95mm or 100mm Abu.  The option to choose handle type and length is under the "color" option.

To actually choose your colors for the accent parts you message the seller after placing an order.  Under My Orders there is an option to send a message to the seller.  You need to do this anyways to let them know if it is for a left or right handle reel so they know which nut to use.

You can choose colors individually for handle nut, lock plate, lock plate screw and the axle pin plate which are aluminum washers for the screws that hold the knob shafts to the carbon handle.

That's nice, and I can feel that carbon graphite sound on the sides of the handle just from the picture!

I'm inclined to go Hawgtech. because its at least 102mm -- 100 is OK, but for what im going to be using tis reel for on a big rod, the smaller handles aren't big enough.  Does anyone know if the Hawgtech handle is compatible with Abu knobs? Not sure? Maybe Rays Studio at 100mm. ??? … ??? I don't know now … ??? … ???

I HIGHLY doubt the Hawgtech handle will accept Abu knobs.  The Ray's will and is only $30.  Seems like a no brainer to me.  100mm is plenty.  Your Tatula 100 only has a 90mm handle.  Why do you want carbon handle longer than 90mm for an MGXtreme?  That reel is an aluminum geared finesse reel.

I want the longer handle because the 105mm handle is perfect. I will be using this reel on a Kistler Heavy Mod 7’ 7” for relatively large fish (not LMB). A bigger handle makes it easier to slap the handle to bring in some line while jigging. It also puts the handle you turn further up the rod.

You'll probably need to get knobs from them.  I like their cork knobs.

I tried to find the Rays studio for Abu, but can’t. I only find one with big bulbous EVA knobs. Do you have a link?

If you order a handle for an Abu reel.  You don't need the app to find the handle.  Just click the link.  I've bought lots of stuff there and don't have the app.  The handle is in the weihai fishing store on aliexpress.

Store: https://m.aliexpress.com/store/storeHome.htm?sellerAdminSeq=205955473&version=v2#/

Handle: https://m.aliexpress.com/item/32293564915.html?sellerAdminSeq=205955473&spm=a2g0n.search-amp.list.32293564915&aff_trace_key=168fac4215424bc884fa2523b8655dc0-1555787808155-04380-jiIYbIM&aff_platform=msite&m_page_id=6301amp-URqJUP9hKzHFUedRCGeovA1557290173535

Under "color" select the yellow square when ordering.  The text will display ABU 100mm.  This means the handle will be 100mm, fit Abu reels and take Abu knobs.  Message the seller after the order under My Orders to tell them what colors you want for the anodized parts and what handle side, left or right.

Ordered it. I see the picture in the listing that shows a 5mm post for the Abus. Now I need to figure out what to put the 105mm handle on?

I have no no idea how the Tatula handles fish like they are bigger? But they do. Maybe the knobs are wider? Or the post is closer to the edge?

Scooped up an Ebay reel stand.  One of my JDM reels came with one, and they are pretty nice for keeping the rash off a reel when laying on deck.  I could not bring myself to buy the Titanium Shimano one...

I've got some mid/high end stuff that you're referring to. But let me tell you I went fishing yesterday with a 35.00 Cabela's rod and 100.00 Daiwa reel and couldn't have been better equipped. Nice combo and welcome.

That was very similar to my first "nice" baitcast combo, I also got the Fury and a Tatula CT Type-r! Still one of my fav combos.

Yeah well worth the money, it's one of the best you can get around this price range imo

The lightest rod I own is a Croix Legend X 7'1MH, and I recently got a deal on a used Aldebaran 50G.. so naturally I had to put the two together. This combo is so stupidly light it's like a toy. I get why people love magnesium reels.
