Super User fishwizzard Posted March 27, 2018 Super User Posted March 27, 2018 I think I just got a smoking deal on ebay. Found an Loomis CR723 GLX misslabled as a GL3, with a reel for $300. I emailed the seller and they confirmed it was a GLX, so I jumped on it. I have an IMX version of that rod and love it, so I am pumped to be able to upgrade to the GLX version. However, I cannot figure out what reel I am getting, it looks like either a Luna or a Millionaire, but not exacty either. Anyone have an idea what it is? 1 Quote

Those CVZ reels go for about $150 in that shape (maybe a little more) and the GLX is older with the Wiebe reel seat. That's a nice setup but the reel may be a little wide and large for that rod. Yea, I’m pretty excited! I don’t think I have a use for the real, so I’ll probably sell it. If I can get 150 bucks for it then the rod becomes an incredible deal. As I said, I love the IMX version of the rod and I’m really excited to be able to fish it head to head with the GLX version. 1 Quote

Possibly up to $125 if it’s in really good condition and the buyer doesn’t care if it has a box and documents or not. Still not a bad deal on the rod if you are able to sell the reel for $100. Quote

Upgraded drag star, 90mm carbon handle with rcs cork knobs and hedgehog gold knob caps. Still waiting on my Hedgehog order to get here next week. Put a black retainer around the nut on the Zillion Type R carbon fiber handle. Really like the looks of it. Steez A is a bit harder. It's more of a gun metal grey and can't figure out a good prom dress for it. 1 Quote
