LuckyHandsINC. Posted April 4, 2017 Posted April 4, 2017 Another new reel. Don't have a rod to pair it with but I'm thinking x4 black python. Will post some pics when the combo is complete. 11 Quote

LuckyHandsINC. Posted April 5, 2017 Posted April 5, 2017 Thanks imbfisherman. I've always loved the tackle side of the hobby. Just got a little something sent out today. Should be here Friday. Very excited about this one coming. Quote
Super User fishwizzard Posted April 6, 2017 Super User Posted April 6, 2017 It has started. Bought a cheap Basszone 100mm handle for my Zilllon SV to see if I like longer handles. The knobs it came with are kinda awful feeling, but I cant get the sim stack right to fit my factory knobs. I have them close but there is still some side to side play. I was thinking about getting some SLP non-coated cork knobs in any case, I assume they will come with some shims? If not, what size and thickness am I looking to buy? My calipers are MIA at the moment. The rod is a CR723, I bought the combo to get myself to give jigs a try. Secondary uses are chatterbaits, spinnerbaits, and light frogging/pitching for spots where my longer combos are too cumbersome. I do a lot of hike-in fishing and wanted a short rod for that. I spent last season in a finesse rut so I wanted to shake things up a bit. Right now I am running 11lb Invizx but when it is done I am going to switch to 30lb J-Braid as a backer under about a cast and a half of 12lb Shooter floro. I still backlash often enough that it would be a waste of money to use more expensive line, but I want the added sensitivity of a good floro to help me learn jigs. The use of braid as backer is to allow me, if I am several miles from my car, to fish through a bad backlash that ruins all my main line. I always carry a small spool of leader, so I can finish out the day and respool when I get home. This also happened; I got some cheap finesse knobs to dress up my PX68. I have know idea if I will like them, but they were cheap enough to try. The reel has a DYI spool and Air BFS bearings installed as well. I have it on a Kuying Teton 6' UL rod. This combo is a blast, with 4lb mono, it will throw a 1/16oz trout spinner as far as my 6'6" UL spinning combo. However, my skill is not yet really up to it, so I have moved up to 1/8oz spinners until I train my thumb a little more. I have only caught a few stocker trout with it so far, but plan to use it for panfish and perch this season as well. 10 Quote
LuckyHandsINC. Posted April 7, 2017 Posted April 7, 2017 This is one of my most anticipated pieces I have gotten. USDM Megabass Destroyer Valdivia. It's nice to see Megabass bring a higher line of rods to the US. Sold an NRX to get it and my first impression is I won't regret it. The reel is not new but It's paired with a Steez Sv Ltd. 15 Quote

I bought it from Neal. ***Disclaimer*** Pics of my reel are pics the guy who sold it to me took. No, I know who did the paint work. You didn't say it was yours. That's why I said "If you don't own it" at least credit the painter. Since it's yours then it doesn't really matter what pics you use. I just know people who post pics of gear that isn't theirs without asking or giving credit. I'm in a small group of enthusiasts along with Neal on another social media site and that's why I said that. Since I know he's not a fan of not being credited when someone 'not the owner' uses his pics. We had a big post going about it because a former member of that group was doing just that. Using other members pics on his IG account without asking or giving credit. A lot of us have started watermarking our pics now after that whole incident happened. Sorry, it wasn't meant to sound rude if it came off that way. 11 hours ago, kickerfish1 said: Couldn't let Ripp'n buy all the SV 103s. Got one while the getting was good. Definitely very hard not to keep buying them up. It's so much reel for $200. I let my buddy try one of mine for a day and now he sold off 6 1st gen Steez's and bought 6 SV103's in their place. Quote
Super User fishwizzard Posted April 10, 2017 Super User Posted April 10, 2017 I started looking at them the other day as well, but I can not find righty sv103 reels for anywhere near $200. I think I missed the boat. Quote

The 103 was kind of an unknown gem but now that the word got around and the sales happened they quickly started disappearing. Quote
