Diggy Posted August 18, 2015 Posted August 18, 2015 Looks good ! I never heard of the "NEWO" brand rods......................... Thanks. I was hoodwinked! Ill probably swap another reel onto it. I had that with me at work. Quote
Super User buzzed bait Posted August 19, 2015 Super User Posted August 19, 2015 man i am digging that full cork handle!! not that i dislike the handle on my gen 1, but am slowly leaning toward the full handles. May have to find me a good deal on a gen 2 and give them a shot! Not to mention *** has a stellar customer service group. Quote
Super User kickerfish1 Posted August 20, 2015 Super User Posted August 20, 2015 Finally finished up a reel I have been working on modifying for a while now. Just picked up an SV spool for it and it may just be one of the most impressive reels I have used. Paired with a DX 703. 8 Quote
Super User kickerfish1 Posted August 21, 2015 Super User Posted August 21, 2015 Nice reel ^ Thanks for the kind words Matt! I was thrilled when I spooled it completely with a 1\4 oz practice plug while testing it. When I am able to fish it I will probably run 10# sniper on it. 1 Quote

Super User rippin-lips Posted August 21, 2015 Super User Posted August 21, 2015 Ups just delivered my 6'7 M/F *** black 2. I brought my Alphas SV to work so I could get a feel for it. They pair well cosmetically and functionally. The balance is great and it should make a good jerkbait rod. Also squarebills and weightless plastics. It's a $100 rod so I understand not to have super high expectations. I'd like to see... Drop shot style hook keeper Smaller guide train Less epoxy on thread wraps I really like the evolve reel seat and the full handle. It seems to put together with decent cork. Not a terrible amount of filler used. 3 Quote

Lendiesel22 Posted August 22, 2015 Posted August 22, 2015 Thats sweet diggy. I love my gen 2 with my curado on it. Quote
travis23 Posted August 22, 2015 Posted August 22, 2015 My Steez LTD SV showed up yesterday!! I only got about 10 minutes with it in the yard, but it is sweet! 8 Quote
ccr425 Posted August 22, 2015 Posted August 22, 2015 That's a sweet looking setup! I've been thinking about trying that reel for a while. Congrats! Quote
I.rar Posted August 22, 2015 Posted August 22, 2015 New handle came in the other day and I had to take a crappy picture. I'm liking these Winn grips but wonder if I should of gone with cork.... Still need to get rid of that plastic drag star for a curado 200e star, add some carbontex and air bfs bearings. Then I think I'll be done with this one. 1 Quote

I.rar Posted August 22, 2015 Posted August 22, 2015 Im set on the silver curado star unless hawgtech or hedgehog has a sale on one of theirs. Thanks anyways Quote
travis23 Posted August 22, 2015 Posted August 22, 2015 That's a sweet looking setup! I've been thinking about trying that reel for a while. Congrats! I'm happy with it. I've wanted a Steez for a long time and I'm glad I was able to buy one. I haven't been able to do much fishing the past couple of months, but I have a tournament next Saturday to test it out. Quote
dam0007 Posted August 23, 2015 Posted August 23, 2015 Nothing too fancy here! President 30X with the first gen *** 6'7" M... only costed me $90. Got the fish slime on it too!!! Funny thing, this is the same fish I caught a week ago, but on the other side of the pond. .jpg Haha... That gap in the reel seat I noticed that too on mine with all non shimano reels. It's like the foot on the reel is oversized on every brand for that rod. Quote
ccr425 Posted August 23, 2015 Posted August 23, 2015 ^^ that is one purdy reel!!!Thank you. My local tackle shop had it and gave me a great deal on it. It worked out great for me since I just got into pitching plastics. Quote
Boonie Vang Posted August 25, 2015 Posted August 25, 2015 I throw lighter jigs, t-rigs, weightless plastics, almost anything 1/4oz and lower with this rig. Sweet reel Shimano 15 Aldebaron HG Phenix K2 684 Custom 1 Quote
bootytrain Posted August 25, 2015 Posted August 25, 2015 Better late than never... Chronarch CI4, the best looking reel available IMO. 4 Quote
