bass1980 Posted March 16, 2015 Posted March 16, 2015 I'm going to cry like a little girl the day I get that first scratch. Pictures can't capture how stunning this reel is. 9 Quote
Super User rippin-lips Posted March 17, 2015 Super User Posted March 17, 2015 I'm going to cry like a little girl the day I get that first scratch. Pictures can't capture how stunning this reel is. Was this an Ebay purchase by chance? Watched one go for a good price that was new in box in the last week. I passed on a used one that was $300 buy it now because I didn't have the extra funds at the time. Turns out I could of made it work and now I'm kicking myself over it. Quote
bass1980 Posted March 17, 2015 Posted March 17, 2015 Yup that's the one. I was ready to go in a bidding war up until $500 but luckily I got it for cheap. I was on a waiting list for Japan tackle and Japan lure shop. Quote

Super User rippin-lips Posted March 18, 2015 Super User Posted March 18, 2015 In the mailbox when I got home from work. Don't worry Goose it's spooled and on a rod. 8 Quote
Super User rippin-lips Posted March 18, 2015 Super User Posted March 18, 2015 Nice, I may have to pick on up too. It's almost hard not to with the SV spool for $200 Quote
Hogsticker Posted March 18, 2015 Posted March 18, 2015 My Alphas SV should be here end of the week. What are your initial impressions? Quote
Super User rippin-lips Posted March 18, 2015 Super User Posted March 18, 2015 My Alphas SV should be here end of the week. What are your initial impressions? It's small and pretty light. Needs cleaned, boca os7's, and a longer handle. The last 2 are already in the mail. I'll clean it then too. Quote
bass1980 Posted March 18, 2015 Posted March 18, 2015 Yeah for $200 it's a bargain considering a SV spool cost $125. Just don't have anymore rods and I've spent so much already. I need a cranking reel so might get the slow gear one. Quote
DelcoSol Posted March 18, 2015 Posted March 18, 2015 Does that alphas have a clicking drag star? I am a little underwhelmed with the Metanium DC and may pick up one. Quote
Super User Jrob78 Posted March 18, 2015 Super User Posted March 18, 2015 Got my SV today. No, it doesn't have line on it yet. I've got a Megabass Zonda Hedgehog Finesse Spool to compare to the SV spool. I just need to get a proper BFS rod. 4 Quote
War Eagle 44 Posted March 19, 2015 Posted March 19, 2015 Just started using the Yumeya spool in my CH 101B this week, it was my first experience with an aftermarket spool. I'm "hooked", this thing really makes a difference in the casting ability of this reel. I've always been very fond of the CH B and the addition of this spool only makes this great reel better. I'm running 30# PP (which this spool doesn't hold all that much of) on a Crucial 6'10" MH. The fellow I bought it from had only used it a few times and it was in brand new condition when I received it. It originally wasn't meant as a casting spool so it didn't come with a VBS brake hub. The previous owner had already installed one so I of course left it on, I didn't add any brake blocks though. I wanted to see if I could get away without using any. I'm very happy to report that I can! Having successfully fished with it on two occasions now I'm probably going to remove the brake hub altogether. It casts small light lures fantastically but the area that I'm most excited about is it's ability to pitch them even better. I was having a blast with this small jig, it's so effortless to present this lure now. Anyway sorry to have gone on so long. 6 Quote

Super User kickerfish1 Posted March 19, 2015 Super User Posted March 19, 2015 Maybe just a gold cast control cap to complete it. Nice reel! Quote
5fishlimit Posted March 20, 2015 Posted March 20, 2015 My lineup for 2015. Not many changes, but there's some new toys added. 7 Quote
War Eagle 44 Posted March 20, 2015 Posted March 20, 2015 sweet set up!! how do you like the new crucials? I really like them. Much better rods than the previous generation. Plenty light, sensitive, and are affordable. I was planning to pick up a few more but I went with the new Loomis E6X rods instead. Quote

Murrica Posted March 21, 2015 Posted March 21, 2015 How do you like the Veracity? I got to use it earlier this week for the second time and paired with my curado that I swapped with the lower gear ratio and I can cast any of my crank baits and the feeling is great for the price. It's very sensitive. Quote
