Super User kickerfish1 Posted February 27, 2015 Super User Posted February 27, 2015 lol, i actually have three cumulus and two 1st gen cumaras going up for sale very soon Don't do it! Tracking down the Cumulus rods can be a nightmare. Hopefully you will come to your senses and at least keep one of them! Quote
Super User Chris at Tech Posted February 28, 2015 Super User Posted February 28, 2015 Good eye. Still looking for heavier, but that seems the heaviest option so far. Although, I think I would opt for the Loomis escape at 2 oz, just because the length of 6'9'' would help with the topwater more than the 1/4 oz lure rating would. Thanks for all the help guys......I have been looking for a good bit and haven't found what I am looking for, and that is why I turned to y'all for the help! keep em coming if you find one! Jeff Dude -- custom build on an MHX blank TR-846-3 is rated 3/4 - 2 1/2 in mod/fast action, but I'm sure you can throw heavier weights with no issue. The rods I had built on the MHX blanks for Baccarac could ALL handle more than the labeled specs. And of course you could have it cut down to whatever length you want. 1 Quote

ccr425 Posted February 28, 2015 Posted February 28, 2015 Nice choice on the Metaniums. I love mine! Quote
bootytrain Posted February 28, 2015 Posted February 28, 2015 My first Shimano baitcasters Dang you went off! Lol.. I would have suggested buying just one to start but I know these Mets are awesome and you should be really pleased. 1 Quote
Super User Goose52 Posted February 28, 2015 Super User Posted February 28, 2015 My first Shimano baitcasters Nice box collection............................................were there any reels inside ? 3 Quote
chelboed Posted February 28, 2015 Posted February 28, 2015 I finally attempted my first rod fix. My guide was damaged in shipping so I replaced it...I also added a Fuji hook-holder. Daggum...placing tiny micro guides is tedious! Here's a factory guide for reference: And compared to my thumb for size reference: Quote

Super User Goose52 Posted March 1, 2015 Super User Posted March 1, 2015 New deep crank set up. Nice! Don't forget to put line on the reel and take the wrapping off the rod grip... 3 Quote
Super User Jrob78 Posted March 1, 2015 Super User Posted March 1, 2015 Nice! Don't forget to put line on the reel and take the wrapping off the rod grip... Oh I will. We've had rain and snow all week. As soon as it dries up a little she will get wet. Quote
John G Posted March 1, 2015 Posted March 1, 2015 The Ultima is here My 2015 lineup, cant wait for the ice to melt !! I have envisioned owning the Glorious and the Ultima and an Aldebaran except that my Conquest 50 would be on the Ultima and the Aldebaran on the Glorious. Either way, your setups look great and I am envious! 1 Quote
Super User Goose52 Posted March 1, 2015 Super User Posted March 1, 2015 All right - out of the box and looking good. Next steps: Add line, add rods, add fish slime... (and I know - you still have hard water so there's still time to execute the next steps ) 1 Quote
thehooligan Posted March 1, 2015 Posted March 1, 2015 Thanks John. I'm constantly changing my combos up so will see. I put the ktf alde on the ultima for the fast gearing and light weight. Have the conquest on the glorious because its regular fast, so the slower gear ratio works better for moving baits. I can't wait any longer for the new Aldebaran !! 2 Quote
Super User kickerfish1 Posted March 1, 2015 Super User Posted March 1, 2015 Nice furniture and area rugs! And oh, the reels look great too! Quote
Super User *Hootie Posted March 1, 2015 Super User Posted March 1, 2015 Never post a picture of a reel without it having line on it, and mounted to a rod. If you do, the Goose will get ya! Hootie 4 Quote
Super User Goose52 Posted March 2, 2015 Super User Posted March 2, 2015 The Stella has line! Yeah, I noticed that...you get partial credit for the Stella but the Mets need some work... 1 Quote
bass1980 Posted March 3, 2015 Posted March 3, 2015 Sorry lines can't help me break 15" of ice. Shelf queen it'll be for another month. 8 Quote
Super User kickerfish1 Posted March 3, 2015 Super User Posted March 3, 2015 Looks like the shelf queen already has its freedom. Sitting on the deck is a step or two closer to the local lake. "Mega" nice outfit! 1 Quote
Super User tomustang Posted March 3, 2015 Super User Posted March 3, 2015 Wife needed a better dropshot rod and she doesn't like the new xtreme handle 7 Quote
