Jd_Phillips_Fishin Posted January 13, 2015 Posted January 13, 2015 Is the Quantum exo rod any good? Quote
Kidflex Posted January 13, 2015 Posted January 13, 2015 Haven't got to use it yet. It's light and balanced well. 7'4" hvy model. I've only used the smoke and kvd rods from quantum and have been pleased with them. This should be better, I hope. Quote
ChrisWi Posted January 13, 2015 Posted January 13, 2015 My new Max 3D and Inferno The max 3d is a 723 Inferno is a 703 Quote
smallies24/7 Posted January 15, 2015 Posted January 15, 2015 Just got a Diawa PX-R and a DX702C to match it. Should have a blast throwing light drop shots and hair jigs for smallies with it. 2 Quote

kingmotorboat Posted January 17, 2015 Posted January 17, 2015 Just ordered a tatula type r and tatula rod from Mr Ron at valley sport today can't wait till it gets here Quote
Super User Tywithay Posted January 17, 2015 Super User Posted January 17, 2015 New rod Good looking combo. St Croix makes some of the most beautiful rods, but they kill me with the full inch of exposed threads. 1 Quote
War Eagle 44 Posted January 18, 2015 Posted January 18, 2015 Nothing fancy here guys but today was the first time I've gotten it out on the water. I was very pleased with it as a whole, nice reel for it's price. Rod was nice also but I kinda feel they were a smidge over priced when they first came out. (Which embarrassingly that's how long I've had this rod and today was the first time I've fished it ) 2 Quote
Super User kickerfish1 Posted January 18, 2015 Super User Posted January 18, 2015 Nice outfit WarEagle! Hard to tell in the photo but is that one of the older cumara rods? I have 4 still and will never part with mine. Great looking and performing rods. Quote
bass1980 Posted January 18, 2015 Posted January 18, 2015 Cumulus 610MH with Metanium. Might switch the Met to a Aldebaran BFS or the new Aldebaran. Sorry really bad lighting. 4 Quote
Super User kickerfish1 Posted January 18, 2015 Super User Posted January 18, 2015 That Cumuls 6'10 MH is my favorite mag finesse casting rod ever. At 3 ounces it is stupid light. Components and blank were some of the best Shimano made at the time. The rod is quite unique. It probably should be labeled as Medium powered rod. It really caps at just above 3/8 oz and 1/2 oz is the max for me. I have a core 50mg7 on mine with HH Studios dress up parts and 10# tatsu. Great outfit for finsse jigs and weightless plastics around little to no cover. Also a rod that fishes shakeyhead worms and drop shot rigs. The other thing that it is fun to throw on it are jerbaits. A unique rod that takes time to adjust to. Once you do it is fun mag finesse rod!! Nice find and a rod that doesnt come available all that often. Enjoy... 1 Quote
bass1980 Posted January 18, 2015 Posted January 18, 2015 Yeah it is definitely not a MH but I knew that buying it. Probably going to use it for shakey head or drop shot around weedlines. Caught 5 smallies yesterday with it. To be honest I don't see the love affair with this rod yet but I've only used it once. This model seem to get nothing but praise and considered the best pre jackall rod Shimano has ever made. I do like it but I'm not sure if I love it just yet. Maybe a few more outings fishing for LMB on what it was attended for. Quote

jyu87 Posted January 19, 2015 Posted January 19, 2015 Got three setups. Newest is the Zillion TWS on the Zillion Rod. Then I have the AG Revo STX on a LTB. Lastly, Lew's Speed Spool LFS on a St. Croix Mojo Bass. Can't wait to sling that TWS though. Edit. Crap. All my photos are too big. Doh! Quote

Jaheff Posted January 19, 2015 Posted January 19, 2015 My Four Favorites at the moment. Only the KP and 713 are a set combo, I'm always switching things around. 2 Quote

Maybe a few more outings fishing for LMB on what it was attended for. The taper and power are unique for sure. I would say it is a medium powered rod with a moderate fast action. It really bends pretty deep into the blank. Looking at Shimanos current lineup you wont find a rod that is this sensitive and light weight. Quote
bass1980 Posted January 19, 2015 Posted January 19, 2015 Definitely light and paired with a 6oz reel it's nice. I'm either going even lighter with Aldebarans or getting a shallow spool for the Metanium. Not sure yet. Quote
