The Falcon Finesse jig is my favorite rod! ^^

Very versatile rod, one of my favorite Falcons as well.  The rod that the Sol is on is a full cork version of the Finesse Jig model as well. The 6'10 length makes for a nice jerkbait rod.

Glad to see the rcs knobs and zillion spool get put to good use. Good looking combos Avery.

Thanks, I was happy to get them, thanks for the great deal.

That didn't take long. I am not trying to be a smart ass, as you say. Just sayin. Touchy, touchy.

I purchase outdated New rods and reels at 50% off the $100 list.

I have so many rod setups. I have setups for shore fishing and boat fishing. My money is in lures more than rod and reels. I have two more expensive hobbies to feed too.

But you guys do have some nice looking stuff there. It's so Purdy I'd hate to fish with it. Congrats there's some awesome reels there. Bigbill

My favorite combo, very impressed with the DC system. Even with the tension knob totally loose there is no backlash at all.

The new Commodore of the Calcutta Squadron reported for duty - 2014 Conquest 100.

I only have about an hour on the water with it but my first impression is that it does everything as well or better than the previous Conquest with one exception: the SVS system adds just a slight bit of complexity for removing the spool as compared to the previous model.  Regarding the SVS - I'm still not sure that it's just "an elegant solution to a non-existent problem" or whether it adds great value. However, it IS handy to have some extra braking with external adjustment available to adjust for wind conditions, etc.

Ergonomically, it palms bigger than the previous model 50-size, but definitely feels smaller than the previous 100-size. The dropped-down gearbox is unnoticeable to me when cranking. The new thumb-rest on top of the reel is nice but the way I palm a reel, my thumb extends over the right edge of the reel so I don't notice it's there.

Anyway, I can already give it my highest rating:  It works, catches fish......

Can someone tell me how to post a picture?

I don't have anything all that impressive but thought I would contribute to the topic....

Most of my stuff is old.  At least 6-7 years or older.  I haven't bought a new rod/reel in a while.

Spinning:

Mitchell 308X Reel - Mitchell Classic II Rod 6-0 Med.

Daiwa Cygnus Combo 2500-B reel, Rod - CYF662MRS 6-6 Med

Mitchell Avocet S2000 Combo - Rod: 7-0 Med

Daiwa Capricorn 1500XTC - Rod - Shimano Jimmy Houston Classic 6-6 Med

Quantum Octane Combo, Octane 10 - Rod 5-6 Light

Daiwa Sweepfire A-4000 - Rod - Bass Pro XPS Performance Graphite 6-6 MH

Casting:

Pflueger Criterion CTN440 - Rod - Berkley Bionix IM-50  6-6 Med.

Pflueger Trion Combo - Rod - 6-6 MH

Shimano Bantam Crestfire CR200B - Rod - Quantum QP60M  6-0 Med.

Shimano Bantam Curado CU200B5 - Shimano Jimmy Houston 6-6 Med

Quantum Inferno IN50CX - Rod - BPS Graphite Series 7-0 MH.

Quantum Accurist AC500PT - Rod - Quantum Tour Edition PT 6-6 MH

Daiwa Megaforce 100TSH - Rod - Quantum Tournament Grade 6-6 MH

Bass Pro Shop Johnny Morris JMP1-OH - Rod - Challenger 7-0 MH

I love me some baitcasters.  I really need to look at up grading my spinning gear, but what I have works and they all catch fish.

Couple of extra rods in the garage that I don't have anything to put on them

Spinning: Daiwa Procaster Tournament 6-6 MH

Casting: Berkley Lightening Rod 5-6 MH

Casting: Berkly Lightening Rod 6-0 MH

Casting: Berkley Graphite Rod 5-6 Med - bought this rod at K-Mart about 25 years (or more) ago.

The easiest way is when you are posting - look for the button marked "More Reply Options."  Click that, then at the bottom of the next screen look for the button marked "Choose files..."  Click that and then browse your harddrive to find and select the photo you want to post.  Click the "Open" button.

Another option - look for your user name at the top of every forum page. Click your user name, then look for the "My Gallery" link - click that and follow the prompts to create a gallery and to upload photos in your gallery.  Once you have photos in your gallery, you select (click on) the image you want to post, then right click on that photo, then click on "Direct link to this image file." Then copy the URL that shows for that page. Go back to the thread that you want to post in, start a post, then click on the "Image" button (looks like a little TV) that appears to the right of the bold, italic, underscore, etc buttons. After clicking on the image button, paste in the URL you copied, and then click "OK" - the image should now appear in your post.

Another option - post your photos in one of the image hosting sites, grab the URL for the photo from that site, then hit the "Image" button in your post, paste the URL, then hit "OK."

Simple, huh......................

Guess you can say I like yellow.  I decided to go with Wright and Mcgill and put them through a couple years of testing.  So far the rods have held up and I have no complaints.  At less than $100 a piece, I don't think you can go wrong.  I have made most of my selection bait specific and add a combo when a new technique comes about.

Very impressive! Suppose you wouldn't break down the pairings further? Almost makes you wish you had a few more arms to fish all of it.

I have a super dumb question: I just spent the better part of an hour (nothing on tv and am bored) reading this thread. I can understand adding parts, ie: new handles, gears, bearings etc. However, doing custom "paint jobs" on a fishing reel to match the rod? My fishing arsenal: 8 Shimano bantam 101's, purchased between '97 and '05. 2 Shimano Stradic 100's purchased in '96.(wood handles) 1 Shimano Stradic 4000 purchased in 2001, 3 Shimano Stradics 2500's purchased in '05-06. All mounted on St Croix Premier rods. All of the reels were $120.00 and all the rods were $80.00. I am retired and fish 80-100 days a year. I spend 2-3 weeks every spring fishing the southern "top 100" ie: Guntersville, Ky. Lake. Rayburn, Tablerock, Toho, Big "O" etc. None of my reels have ever been touched by a repair man. I clean and lube them every spring and fish all summer. Not one of these reels has ever failed me. When I was on Guntersville in March, the guide made a comment: " Those old "green" Shimanos never quit do they" Just give me my "old green" Shimanos and old Stradics and I'm a happy (fisherman) camper.
