i need help choosing a tackle box or bag. i need something that will store plenty amount of soft plastics, and some terminal tackle. I dont need space for hard baits. Anyone know of a tackle box/bag that will get the job done?

They've got those bait folders (for lack of a better word, having a senior moment :-[). It's like a ring binder that holds lots of plastic bags with plastic zippers...

Go to your local Wal-Mart and check out the fishing section. They should have a large green bag , called the "Okeechobee Fats Tackle Bag" . It's $40 and comes with 8 large boxes. Plus it has numerous external storage compartments. Best bang for your buck out there.

I'm with Dean on this one.  I just looked at that bag last weekend was very impressed with what you get for the money...now if I could only come up with an extra $40...

Dean is RIGHT ON! I have one of those Okeechobee Fats bags and it IS "the cat's whiskers" as far as tackle boxes go, IMO. I can custom tailor the individual boxes to carry whatever I want to throw on any given day. In fact, I did just that last Friday before our last outing. You are NOT just limited to the 8 boxes that come with the bag! I carry about 4 of the larger boxes filled with plastics and another 4 - 6 smaller boxes filled with cranks, spinners, topwater, etc., etc. The bag also has nice side and end pockets that can accomodate a LOT of tackle or personal items like sunglasses, cell phone, etc. The bags can be bought on Ebay from time to time for about 1/2 of what Walmart sells them for. Still, $40 for a bag that versatile is a BARGAIN! I have 4 other hard shell tackle boxes and prefer the Okee over all of them.

I have the red version of the Ockee lineup. Mine will fit four boxes and since you don't use boxes I would go with this one because it is smaller. You can use the space where those boxes were and fill it up with all your plastics. Plus there is plenty of pockets and compartments for other things like terminal tackle, tools, scales, etc.

Picked mine up for 19 dollars. I would recommend this size for what you need it for. The 40 dollar bag is overkill for your needs IMO. Especially if your using it to tote around on the shore.

I also have the red version/19 bucks at walmart including the boxes. This bag has taken abuse and then some without anything breaking. I have one negative, I hate those plastics folders I ditched mine I just don't like em. I went to the LBH storage System: Zip Bags, you can fit more than a days needs in the bags and tuck em in the front zippered pouch 8-)

Agreed. Mine are still in there and holding some grubs at the moment. But they get in the way. I too stick my plastics in the front zippered pouch. With the back exposed pouch for my tools.

I got the yellow one  ;D It was the last they had. Its great for the money, But I've started moving my stuff over to a backpack since I hike to most of my spots.

FALCON looks like they make several nice boxes for hard baits. I am thinking about picking a couple of those up for my Norman deep cranks.

I went through the folder, plastic boxes. worm binders and about any thing else that has come along. Now I keep the plastics in the bag they came in or a zip lock freezer bag if the original bag tears then put the smaller bags into a 1 or 2 gallon zip lock bag by bait type and keep the whole bunch of big bags in a plasic tub with a lid that fastens to the top.

ANother vote for the Okeechobee Fats bag.

I also have a smaller Plano bag that I will take sometimes as well.
