1nstinct Posted March 18, 2011 Posted March 18, 2011 I set up my new revo sx-hs with a 6'9" vendetta, and since the lake was defrosted i decided to try it out. its spooled with about 25 yards of mono(8#) and the rest 30# power pro, it seems to be digging in on itself and it snapped once already, my question is should i move up to 40# or 50# power pro? or any other suggestion? thanks for the help Quote
central.PA.bass Posted March 18, 2011 Posted March 18, 2011 seems like you got way too much braid on there.. i usually go halfway with mono and the rest with braid.. I have 30# PP on mine and have no problems Quote
MMan16 Posted March 18, 2011 Posted March 18, 2011 30lb shouldn't really dig. It may be in the way you spooled it on. Quote
Mr SwimJig Posted March 18, 2011 Posted March 18, 2011 30lb shouldn't really dig. It may be in the way you spooled it on. I agree, my swim jig setup is spooled with 30lbs braid, no backing and it does not dig into itself at all. SJ Quote
fmoore Posted March 18, 2011 Posted March 18, 2011 You have to put tension on it when you're spooling up - the more the better. If it's spooled on loose it'll dig in. Quote
