central.PA.bass Posted March 10, 2011 Posted March 10, 2011 hey guys.. I have acquired these reels online the last few months for a good price... I need your help.. all of my reels are Revos but I have these reels here as backups... Here is what I have: 2 Daiwa Capricorns (the orange ones) 2 Abu Silver Maxs 1 Black Max 1 BPS Extreme (older) 1 Daiwa Procaster (i think it needs the spool replaced..) Which ones would you keep and what ones do you think i should sell? I only want to keep a couple.. thanks! Quote
ROCbass Posted March 10, 2011 Posted March 10, 2011 It depends. Do you want to sell the ones that will make you the most money, or the ones that you are least likely to use? If it were me, I'd keep the Capricorns and maybe the extreme. IMO a procaster isn't worth replacing the spool on, and the Abu's are all lower end graphite frame reels which probably won't last as long, but they look to be in good enough shape that you could get a decent price for them. central.PA.bass Posted March 10, 2011 Author Posted March 10, 2011 what would you sell them for? Quote
Super User .ghoti. Posted March 10, 2011 Super User Posted March 10, 2011 If it were me, I'd sell them all. You just might get enough to get another Revo. Then your backup would match your starting lineup. Quote
ROCbass Posted March 10, 2011 Posted March 10, 2011 List them for whatever you think is fair and let the market dictate the final price. Quote
DpDvr Posted March 10, 2011 Posted March 10, 2011 I listed all my old stuff on Craigslist and sold it, then took the cash and bought a new Revo Premier. Craigslist is a great tool and it's free. Quote

That is a good idea.. you think it'd be better to sell them as a lot? or individually? i think i could make some money either way.. Quote
Super User .ghoti. Posted March 10, 2011 Super User Posted March 10, 2011 Those are all low priced reels. I would try to sell them locally. Shipping is going to take a fairly large piece of the pie. Hey big t, don't mince any words; tell us what you really think. ;D ;D Quote
Super User J Francho Posted March 10, 2011 Super User Posted March 10, 2011 The two orange XTC Caps on the right are very good reels for the money. They are a bit heavy, but they are as good as anything in the $100-$150 range. Quote

The Capricorn 100XTC is an 8 bearing, ported spool version of the Procaster 100H, which got good reviews from TT back in the day... http://www.tackletour.com/reviewdaiwaprocaster.html It's a solid reel, built on an aluminum frame, with a comfortable profile. Definitely a big step up from the others in that lot. Quote
Senkoman12 Posted March 10, 2011 Posted March 10, 2011 you might as well just trash the blue procaster. they can be found for $30and that one looks pretty beat up Quote
