Red Cajun Line

I just bought some of this in the 12lb and was wondering what the reviews are of it.  I searched and found basically nothing about it.  Is anyone using it with any success?  What are the ups/downs to it?  I thought I'd give it a try just for shagrins as it is really inexpensive and I wanted to see how its supposed "invisibility" stood up.  Lets here it, thanks.

I used it in the past as main line, but currently just use it for backing. Not for any negative reasons. I just made the switch to fluorocarbon. It is well priced and very strong! The only negative opinion I have is it seemed that I was out fished by friends using fluorocarbon when the fish were finicky. That being said I out fished friends using the line with red hooks. Over all I think it is good line. BTW it is great for backing because when you see the red you know it is time to re-spool.

I used a spool of it and can't really say I was pleased or displeased with it. 

I would use a polamer knot with it. 

You can see the red line better to tie the know, if you have poor eyesight.

I have it on one of my spinning combos. It worked fine, for mono I use an improved clinch or palomar.

It does make really good backing...

I tried it on one of my rods but it was not as durable as big game that I usually use.

It's a strong line but I thought it had a lot of memory. I'm sure it is a good backing and I do like it on baitcasting gear for catfish or wipers.

Mine had memory too....I hated it. The color red seemed to spook a lot of the shallow fishing holes i did.

cajun makes more than one red line.people who have memory issues with it have generally purchased red lightening which is a trolling line/ocean line not really meant for casting.advantage is a copoly with to much memory.red cast is a super limp catsable line with the least memory of any mono i ever used.i caught tons of fish on cajun line.stopped using it and went back to braid because i hate line stretch.

I was able to get out today and make a few casts at a local pond for a few minutes.  I found that it was pretty darn abrasion resistant.  I was in the trees seemingly every cast today (wind blowing 30+) and had zero problems.  Caught 2 fish on back to back casts in lest than 2 feet of water in basically the same spot.  The water is fairly clear, so maybe they can't see that red line after all.  Biggest of the 2 was 19 inches and a solid 4lbs.   ;D

i liked alot. it had some memory.... but it was as strong as a rhino on pcp.

then i discovered yo zuri..... and now flourocarbon....... and so i cant go back to mono again.

the stretch kills me.

if i were to use mono though... itd be cajun or biggame.

Thanks for the reassuring comments.  I like a little stretch when I'm fishing spinnerbaits and crankbaits, gives a bit of time for the bait to get in the fishes mouth/bounce of the cover before setting the hook.  When I'm flipping, it's braid to a flouro Yo-Zuri leader.

  I think the whole red color thing is meant to catch anglers more than fish.  I have used the Cajun advantage a little and really had not complaints other than a little bit of memory.  Red light does not begin filtering out of the color spectrum until you get to around 3ft, and even after that the line will appear gray... So the fish are going to see the line if your shallow.  Sometimes I don't think it matters if they are hungry enough, but when the bite gets tough the tough fish fluoro.  I currently use Cajun for backing and that is it. 

  I think a lot of it comes down to confidence.  I don't have any confidence that the fish can't see red/yellow/green line if the water is half-way clear.  I have no objections to tying braid direct for flipping/pitching/punching, but even then I prefer a leader if the water is really clear.

I've been using the mono for years. 14-17lb test, throwing bigger spinners and cranks. Never an issue.
