See a few folks with their site in their Sig. (guess there sponsored). Out of curiosity who has fished them? TBH to me they look overpriced and the grips look kinda lame.  ;D

i think they'll sponsor anyone.. i know a kid who is "sponsored" by them and owns one rod of theirs and never uses it..

This is kinda what I figured judging by a few of the select characters Ive seen representing their product.  :o

Yea Big Bear will sponsor just about anyone, I know 13 yr olds with sponsorships (which is just a fancy word for saying "I get there stuff wholesale") But the grips personally think are cool, they are made to channel the water so you always have a good grip and they are insulated what ever that means

I know what insulated means, but have no idea why the heck you would insulate a rod handle!?  :o

Because you're tired of feeling all of those annoying fish that keep taking your lures. Duh.  ::o

I tried one of these rods a while back and was not impressed at all.  The rods overall quality was very nice, but they are way over priced and the grip, well its not something I want on any of my rods anytime soon.

I think he is referring to the fact that they insulated the handle so you wouldn't be bothered by feeling the fish through the rod handle when they bite. Course I can't speak for him. Just an educated guess on my part. ;D ;D

I wish I would have seen this thread sooner....Big Bear Rods are the best rods on the market. The grips make a huge difference. It doesn't make a difference in sensitivity at all. The rods are light and EXTREMELY sensitive. All the components are high quality and they are made in the USA in Athens Georgia. The grip really does help in cold weather. It stays warm for a decent amount of time after you stop holding it.

No not really I  hate to say it because I'm a young gun myself, but being sponsored means next to nothing about the quality of a young angler. Your focus should not be to gain sponsors at such a young age. Your goals should be centered around simply getting more hands on experience at your local body of water. Just have fun!  :)
