Super User eyedabassman Posted February 14, 2008 Super User Posted February 14, 2008 It is a WAR, between the top dogs of the craw world! My vote is for the Paca Craw, and Baby Paca Craw. What is your input? Quote
CJ Posted February 14, 2008 Posted February 14, 2008 I'm a Paca guy but I haven't tried the Rage Tails yet. Netbait is who started making the end of the claws fatter to get the action of both of these lures and the YUM Craw Papi.Though Strike King added ridges to the claw's edges and will probally cause more water displacement. Just my .02 Quote
flippin Posted February 14, 2008 Posted February 14, 2008 I like t pacas cause you can put a tube rattle in them Quote
Super User Tin Posted February 14, 2008 Super User Posted February 14, 2008 Paca style, why, because I can make them cheap. 8-) Quote
Shadcranker Posted February 14, 2008 Posted February 14, 2008 Whichever is on sale I guess. Ever since the Paca came out, others have tried to duplicate the action. Berkley has one, Gambler does too, and now SK. Very similar baits, although Netbait has a better selection of colors, if you want to get real color specific. Quote
Jake. Posted February 14, 2008 Posted February 14, 2008 I haven't tried the Rage Tail, but the Paca Chunk is my new favorite jig trailer as of a few days ago. The action was just awesome. Quote
Davis Posted February 14, 2008 Posted February 14, 2008 For my applications, I will find out this spring. Used the Paca Chunk last year and it had awesome action. Bought the Baby and regular size Paca Craws this offseason along with a bag of Green Pumpking Rage Tail Craws. Should get some nice action with those creek smallies in shallow water. Quote
Guest muddy Posted February 14, 2008 Posted February 14, 2008 *** Beaver Craws! Havent tried his Lake Fork Craws Yet Quote

Just my .02 Yea a lot more water displacement on the rage.close call here,I like the fact I can easily put a loud rattle in the paca. The paca also falls a little slower due to the fact it is a tube. The rage is highly durable, and have caught multiple fish one one bait as long as the head doesnt rip. When the head does rip, just snip it off with scissors and you got a dandy rage chunk trailor.Either way they are both fantastic baits, and are my go to for flippin pitchin. Just my .02 I love the Paca Craws! Only problem I have with them is that the claws rip off so easy, but they still catch fish with one dangling claw. Search on youtube for YUM craw papi, and see what you think. Paca craws and the Strike King 3x are also up. Quote
BassinWill301 Posted February 14, 2008 Posted February 14, 2008 I use Paca Craws for alot of my jig trailers. i have not used any of the rage tail products yet, but i own a pack of rage tail shads. Quote

Search on youtube for YUM craw papi, and see what you think. Paca craws and the Strike King 3x are also up. I have done that for years. I would be fishing a plastic craw bait and the bite would slow or stop, so I would remove one of the pinchers and the bite would start up again. The bass see it as a easy meal because they think the craw is injured. Quote
Big-O Posted February 15, 2008 Posted February 15, 2008 In my opinion, Rage Tail is hands down the best craw and/or jig trailer I have ever seen. Slow or fast, those claws are "Action Jackson". They are very durable as well. The claws even work on the fall with a 3/16 oz jig. Their movement is different than all others on the market and I Have tried them all. Paca used to be my favorite but has been replaced with Rage Tails and my jig bite has improved substantially. Quote
bocabasser Posted February 15, 2008 Posted February 15, 2008 paca for sure. i tried the rage, and i like them, but the cost is more for less. Quote
Super User Bassin_Fin@tic Posted February 16, 2008 Super User Posted February 16, 2008 paca for sure. i tried the rage, and i like them, but the cost is more for less. The rage is 2x durable I have caught up to 15 fish on one bait flipping, and part of that was after one of the claws was ripped off. Not knocking the paca,it has its time and place too,and was said before,I can put a large tube rattle in it for extra loudness.Better yet try a rattle weight with a tube rattle once. 8-) Quote
Big-O Posted February 16, 2008 Posted February 16, 2008 My sentiments exactly! When KVD and Denny Brauer tell you personally that the Rage Tails are the best action Craws and Chunks they have ever seen, bar none, and they are using them as we speak, I think that's good enough for me. Quote
Jake. Posted February 16, 2008 Posted February 16, 2008 I would try the Rage Tails if they would come out with a PB & J color.... :-/ Quote
Cajun1977 Posted February 16, 2008 Posted February 16, 2008 last year i had alot of success t rigging a pacacraw and dragging it over some pea gravel, i really liked the bait and have since ordered a bunch more Quote

I hate to make light of your reasoning here, but surely you know that Denny and KVD have MAJOR sponsorships with SK. Not sure if they are a real objective source for a product endorsement. Quote

According to Denny, he is basically a salaried employee of Strike King. He just gets to fish instead of sitting in the office. Brad Quote
Big-O Posted February 21, 2008 Posted February 21, 2008 Used Paca for years and got my tail handed to me by a friend and he was using Rage Tails and same colors as my Paca's. He had them before they came on the market and he consistantly smoked anyone else who was throwin Paca's. That don't happen anymore cause the rest of us are using Rage Tails now and our jig bite is awesome. By the way they do have the peanut butter color although they don't call it that. Good fishin!
