JacobK Posted February 5, 2011 Posted February 5, 2011 Just wondering what rod you guys like to use this reel with? I tried it on a Zillion rod last night and wasn't too thrilled with how it fit in my hands. Quote
Super User skunked_again Posted February 5, 2011 Super User Posted February 5, 2011 i think the reel is at home on a Lowrider and the Compre. i did not like the Mojo/Zillion combo. Quote
WanderLust Posted February 5, 2011 Posted February 5, 2011 Buddy has his on a Zillion rod. Nice combo. Quote
Super User J Francho Posted February 5, 2011 Super User Posted February 5, 2011 I have two on LTB rods. Quote
bassinbrian Posted February 6, 2011 Posted February 6, 2011 I got 1 on a zillion, used to be on my st.Croix LTB jig and worm rod and now I got 2 type R's on my steez rods. ( frog rod and 1 on my jig rod. ) Quote
qyjmh Posted February 6, 2011 Posted February 6, 2011 7'6 carrot stix 4.9.1 7'2 carrot stix 4.9.1 6'6 LT daiwa 7.3.1 all zillions, very pleased Quote
Super User KYntucky Warmouth Posted February 6, 2011 Super User Posted February 6, 2011 Mines on a Zillion rod as well. Quote
Super User Chris at Tech Posted February 6, 2011 Super User Posted February 6, 2011 Personally, I love the way my Zillion reel fits on my Zillion rod. My other Zillion feels at home on my Dobyns 704c, but doesn't feel quite as good to me as my Zillion/Zillion combo. Quote
Craiger12 Posted February 6, 2011 Posted February 6, 2011 I love mine on all my Dobyns Champions and Champ Extremes. Quote
Finnz922 Posted February 26, 2011 Posted February 26, 2011 I have two Daiwa Iaconelli rods with zillions on them. the 7'2h with the 50th and 7'8m with the crazy cranker. I am also using a S-Series 7'mh cranking rod on a crazy cranker. I live in Kansas and just picked up my first Dobyn's and fell in love though. Now I have to figure out how I am going to justify 3 rods that will cost me over $800 when I am barely touching $350 with what I have now. Quote
Fat-G Posted February 26, 2011 Posted February 26, 2011 Before The_Natural's demise, he said that the Zillion rods were every bit as sensitive as the Steez models. I would like to try one, it's just not on the top of my list at the moment. Quote
Super User Gone_Phishin Posted February 26, 2011 Super User Posted February 26, 2011 I have a 7.1:1 on a Kistler LTA 5'9" MH. I primarily use this for large topwater baits, with some jerkbaits and spinnerbaits thrown in as well. I also have a Type R on a Steez 7'1" Compile-X. This is for jigs, skirted grubs, and big worms. Super User new2BC4bass Posted February 26, 2011 Super User Posted February 26, 2011 Had my 50th on a 7' MH Airrus Ultra. Thought I was doing pretty good throwing 3/8-1/2 oz. lures. Got to try it one afternoon on a Zillion Flip and Pitch before lakes got covered with ice. Really hums a 3/4 oz. spinnerbait out there. I will have to pay more attention to how well it fits my hand. I really like this reel so even if it doesn't fit me the best on certain rods, I will continue to use it on whichever rod I feel can make the best use of it. Fit be dam*ed! Quote
Super User South FLA Posted February 26, 2011 Super User Posted February 26, 2011 My Zillion use to pull frog duty on Daiwa Light and Tough rod, which I have since sold, but now rides on my St. Croix Avid as a lipless crankbait burner. Like the way it sits on it, great reel. Quote
