7mm-08 Posted February 18, 2011 Posted February 18, 2011 I started using the Fireline Braid in my bc last year and it worked very well. Quote
GrundleLove Posted February 18, 2011 Posted February 18, 2011 I was LITERALLY in the same boat as you. Picked this up http://www.basspro.com/Spiderwire-Stealth-Camo-Braid-Line-300-Yards/product/103328/-1550857 Not only is it camo and looks good, but they are offering a free hat AND rebate offers. Best deal around Quote

Super User Hammer 4 Posted February 18, 2011 Super User Posted February 18, 2011 Diawa Samurai 55 lb braid..one of the best braids on the market. Quote
B A S S E R Posted February 18, 2011 Posted February 18, 2011 I have used P-line, Suffix, Fireline braid, and this year its Power Pro. Of the first 3 i liked fireline braid the best... maybe this year I will change that. Quote
breezy Posted February 18, 2011 Posted February 18, 2011 I used PowerPro for a couple years but kept experiencing unexplained breakoffs. Switched to Sufix Performance Braid about a year ago and they've pretty much disappeared. Overall I've been very happy with the Sufix using everything from 30-50lbs. I'm pretty sure that 30lb+ all has 8 strands whereas <30lb only has 4. Haven't got a chance to use the new 832 but I've heard good things. Probably won't get a chance to try it anytime soon, plan on picking up a few spools for $12 from BPS. ;D Quote
steezy Posted February 18, 2011 Posted February 18, 2011 Diawa Samurai 55 lb braid..one of the best braids on the market. x10 on the Diawa Samurai but I use 70# There is NO better braid. Quote
Fat-G Posted February 18, 2011 Posted February 18, 2011 Diawa Samurai 55 lb braid..one of the best braids on the market. x10 on the Diawa Samurai but I use 70# There is NO better braid. I like the Samurai too, but to me it's almost "too" good. It's so limp it feels like silk. The color is too light for my liking, also. I love my PowerPro, but I recently have been using 832 with very good results. Quote
MMan16 Posted February 18, 2011 Posted February 18, 2011 Been using 50# Fireline for the past 3 seasons and not one complaint. Quote
Fish Chris Posted February 19, 2011 Posted February 19, 2011 I've used about 10 different braided lines, and as long as they are 100% braided spectra, it's really splitting hairs. I prefer TUF-Line XP. I think it's a great value + it's available in white, which I often use for better visibility at my end, and then since I always use a mono leader anyway, I'm not worried about visibility to the fish anyway. BTW, when I hear "Fireline".... I always cringe.... Yes, I know they now make an actual braided Fireline, which might not be too bad, but that old fused garbage was absolutely worthless ! I'd have rather used mono ! (and you guys should already know how I despise mono !) Peace, Fish Quote
Super User OkobojiEagle Posted February 19, 2011 Super User Posted February 19, 2011 BTW, when I hear "Fireline".... I always cringe.... Yes, I know they now make an actual braided Fireline, which might not be too bad, but that old fused garbage was absolutely worthless ! Read as: one man's opinion. Light test fused lines behave better on my spinning equipment than lightly coated limp braid (read as: another man's opinion). steve Quote
WanderLust Posted February 19, 2011 Posted February 19, 2011 My go to braid is Daiwa Samurai... I also have reels with fireline and suffix performance. Fireline was my go to until I discovered Samurai. I still use it or Performance for fishing salad. Quote
51a Posted February 19, 2011 Posted February 19, 2011 Power pro, fireline is trash, (my opinion). Quote
BassThumb Posted February 19, 2011 Posted February 19, 2011 You can't really go wrong with Fireline or Powerpro braid. I haven't tried Samurai or Sufix 832, but I will this year. I didn't really care for the Sufix Performance braid. Quote
Super User Grey Wolf Posted February 19, 2011 Super User Posted February 19, 2011 God , I miss that picture of fireline , you should post it more often. Quote

But of course it isn't braided - so a little of topic. Quote
Super User OkobojiEagle Posted February 19, 2011 Super User Posted February 19, 2011 But of course it isn't braided - so a little of topic. Take some apart under a magnifying glass and then tell me it isn't braided. steve Quote
