Fat-G Posted February 23, 2011 Posted February 23, 2011 Just wondering if anyone has fished these, specifically the 7'11 MHXF or Fast. I want to get one for light flipping and pitching, up to 1/2 oz. Just wanted to make sure it's not a parabolic crank rod, even though it is the "Reaction" series, LOL. Quote
Super User burleytog Posted February 23, 2011 Super User Posted February 23, 2011 The XF is quite the rod. Used one for a few minutes last spring. Don't know if it is stiff enough for such an application, but what would it hurt to try? Quote

I'm looking at that rod for fishing big lipless baits in grass, as well as running big inline spinners. Quote

A former member here owned it and it was quite the setup. Quote
Super User Hooligan Posted February 23, 2011 Super User Posted February 23, 2011 That's what I keep hearing about that rod, specifically. For 1/2-1 ounce traps, it sounds like it's a sweet rod. Quote
Matt Jungblut Posted February 23, 2011 Posted February 23, 2011 i had the 7 foot heavy i wanted a rod that would do it all from throwing shallow cranks and the way up to dd22 . this rod would do that plus much more worked great as a spinnerbait rod top water frog rod tackle tour did a great review of that line on rod check it out when there site is back up Quote
Super User Hooligan Posted February 23, 2011 Super User Posted February 23, 2011 I'm very fond of the series on the whole. I have the 6-9M, 6-9 MH, and the 7-0 M and MH in the reaction. I keep hearing so many good things about the 7-11 for fishing grass, though. Can't help myself in terms of wanting it. Stoopid Monkey. Quote
Fat-G Posted February 23, 2011 Author Posted February 23, 2011 Ah, if they're for reaction baits (which would make sense), I'll just pay FULL PRICE and get a Dobyns. Grrr. I can get a real good deal on Shimano products now. Wish they made a 7'6 HF in the original Cumara line. Quote
WanderLust Posted February 23, 2011 Posted February 23, 2011 That 7'2 Cumara (CUC-72MH) is a beast. Zombie makes a nasty good pitch flip type rod. Quote
Fat-G Posted February 23, 2011 Author Posted February 23, 2011 That 7'2 Cumara (CUC-72MH) is a beast. Zombie makes a nasty good pitch flip type rod. Yeah it is. I'm using mine to throw 1/4 oz. t-rigs and jigs up to 1/2 oz. I just want a longer and more powerful Cumara for flipping. Quote
WanderLust Posted February 23, 2011 Posted February 23, 2011 Dobyns Savy (SS766FLIP) is a quality rod that won't make you go broke. Quote
