BigGame0892 Posted February 22, 2011 Posted February 22, 2011 The Curado 200E5 no doubt for cranking. Love mine and want 2 more. They can be had on eBay for $140 or less. Assuming you have rods for multiple reels, get one E5 and one E7 and you'll be set for a lot of different stuff. Quote
Super User Raider Nation Fisher Posted February 22, 2011 Author Super User Posted February 22, 2011 Thanks to all y'all (well except maybe the raider hater, jealousy pure jealousy ;D) for all the suggestions and advice. Y'all have definately given me some things to think about. I knew there was a reason I liked this site so much. ; Quote
Super User NorcalBassin Posted February 23, 2011 Super User Posted February 23, 2011 No reason to go >$200 on a CB reel. Not going to find anything better than that E5 for your planned application anyway. Be careful with the smoke... could be more smoke and mirrors than anything- reviews pretty mixed thus far. Quote
Nibbles Posted February 23, 2011 Posted February 23, 2011 for $350 get a Daiwa Zillion, or SHIMANO Core, and blow the rest on tackle. As much a Daiwa fan as I am, I would still never, ever, ever, ever pay full price for a Zillion. As much as I hate to admit it, if you're looking for a good cranking reel, Daiwa's USDM currently has diddly squat. If you're willing to go after an aftermarket Sol or Alphas though, they're pretty nice for most cranking applications. Quote
