The Curado 200E5 no doubt for cranking.  Love mine and want 2 more.  They can be had on eBay for $140 or less.  Assuming you have rods for multiple reels, get one E5 and one E7 and you'll be set for a lot of different stuff.

Thanks to all y'all (well except maybe the raider hater, jealousy pure jealousy  ;D) for all the suggestions and advice. Y'all have definately given me some things to think about. I knew there was a reason I liked this site so much. ;

No reason to go >$200 on a CB reel. Not going to find anything better than that E5 for your planned application anyway. Be careful with the smoke... could be more smoke and mirrors than anything- reviews pretty mixed thus far.

for $350 get a Daiwa Zillion, or SHIMANO Core, and blow the rest on tackle.

As much a Daiwa fan as I am, I would still never, ever, ever, ever pay full price for a Zillion.

As much as I hate to admit it, if you're looking for a good cranking reel, Daiwa's USDM currently has diddly squat. If you're willing to go after an aftermarket Sol or Alphas though, they're pretty nice for most cranking applications.

There are two things you always count on with this forum; Suggestions and Confusion. Get something black and silver for sure. ;)
