i was watching in-fisherman and they showed a knot to connect leader to braid.  i didn't catch the name of the knot.

i'll try to explain...the best i remember..

loop one end (not sure if leader or braid?) hold it with thumb and forefinger, take other line through the loop and wrap it around 9 times then 9 times back toward loop, take that tag end back through the loop, moisten, gently tighten with tag ends, then fully tighten with connected lines.

i'm not sure if i missed a step when starting the 9 wraps back toward the loop?  also not sure which line has the loop to start??

anyone know the name of this knot?  or is my explanation too confusing??   :-/

seems like he said some kind of "no knot"??

thanks...

The video says to wrap about 5 or 6 times....

10 to 15 is what I've read here more than once.

Like Francho said, that video is an Alberto also known as a Modified Albright knot.  In a traditional albright, you're only wrapping the line around itself towards the hook.  With the Alberto you wrap it up the standing line, and then back down towards the hook.

Mike L:  Experimentation is key.  Some people wrap it up to 20 or more times.  It all really depends on what you're comfortable with and the thickness of the line being tied.
