HiYa.

A local shop down here has a Fenwick Techna AV [AVS 70MM] 7ft med/med spinning rod rated at 1/8 -5/8 oz, 4-12 lb line that I'm thinking of getting for cranks and jerk baits.

This line was discontinued 2 yrs ago, but at that time it was Fenwick's top of line model. ( I called Fenwick)

New it retailed for 225.00, I can get it for 150.00.

It feels great with a Smyetre 3000 FJ reel.

What do you guy's think?

I never owned a Fenwick, and I hardly ever see them mentioned here, but I'm told they make a very good product up there with the St Croix and Dobyns.

True?

Do you think this rod is worth it.

Thanks for any feed back at all

I asked the same question a few weeks back before I bought my Fenwick and everybody that replied had positive feedback on them.

I used to be a hard-core Fenwick guy. Still love my Fenwicks.

The only problem I have with them, is that don't make a micro-light which suits my purposes, nor a heavy action spinning rod which can handle my swimbaits..... So that leaves me with only my medium weight rods, which will probably last me 20+ years !

Have you seen these ?  http://www.basspro.com/Fenwick-Elite-Tech-River-Runner-Spinning-Rods/product/10210426/-1743464

I just got the 6' 8" ultra light. Beautifully made rod. Lifetime warranty. It's still frozen out here, haven't had a chance to fish it yet >;)

Great rod, but the store should be clearing out a two year old rod alot more aggressively than that.  I'd offer 100.00 even and he should be thinking about taking it.

I bought the same rod, but for casting, on ebay for $60 with free shipping. Great rod, but look around before you spend the $150.

Hey Bilge,

1 - 4 LB

1/32 - 1/8 OZ  6'2'' SL

MODERATE FAST  ERR62SL-MF-2

2-PIECE

Only this one would be close..... but it's a 2 piece, so I wouldn't even consider it.

Just a mental block, ya' know. But I want my micro light to start out, and end up, as a 1 piece rod, when I sometimes fish for Sturgeon with them ;)

Peace,

Fish
